After their usual terrible starts to a game, the falcons were able to finally get a win against the stinky, stanky Redskins. The biggest play of the game was an interception by Chancey Davis. His Int set up a 22-yard touchdown pass from Michael Vick to Michael Jenkins, a ball that Jenkins

That Marvelous catch put the Falcons ahead for good in their first victory in over a year. Next years starting runningback Jerious .Norwood sealed the win in the fourth quarter with a long 69 scamper in which he broke a tackle and left redskins cornerback Carlos Rogers doing the harlem shake the final 10 yards of the run. Vick was his usual 50% completion percentage, Alge dropped another ball or two....eerr a wins a win. If you've been wonderin where i've been...and i know you have....to be honest with you, i stopped caring.

Really, can you blame me? Didn't think so.

I couldn't tell y'all anything that y'all didn't know. Jim Mora's an idiot of a head coach. The recievers stink, Mike is a midget....blah, blah, blah. But now i care. Because we have momentum!!(Did i spell that right?)

For anyone who has watched Michael Vick throw the football for the past five years -- and we're talking about precision here, folks, not aerodynamic aesthetics -- the past two weeks have been pretty compelling.

For defensive coordinators around the league, many of whom already suffer from insomnia on weeks when they must devise a game plan to try to contain the slippery Vick, the fortnight might be a frightening look at a onetime scatter-arm becoming exponentially scarier.

Vick the playmaker as, quite suddenly, Vick the pinpoint passer? The mercurial Vick as a marksman? Vick the league's greatest athlete as Vick the accurate?

If that's possible.

Perfection wore jersey No. 7

The majesty of Vick's performance could not be captured in the mere numbers he put up. Running only when and because he could, the Atlanta quarterback produced his usual 55 yards on the ground. But there was nothing usual about the way he passed the ball, or the way he willed and winged his visiting team to Vicktory.

Since he entered the NFL in 2001, Vick, prospering more by pizazz than precision, has never put together a season's passer rating of more than 81.6.

Against the Bengals, though, completing 20 of 28 passes with three touchdowns and no interceptions, the finest Falcon checked in at 140.6. And that figure, frankly, didn't do him justice. It didn't show how many times he turned a sack into a strike, on how many occasions his ethereal feet produced an aerial feat, how many defensive backs he mocked with masterful placement, how many third downs he turned into first downs by his miraculous left hand.

The Bengals, because they must, will tell you that even Vick could have been beaten Sunday. "I'm never going to concede that," said Marvin Lewis, when asked whether, sometimes, a player simply can't be surmounted. "But he played a good game."

"Sometimes a guy's just on his game and you have to say that," observed cornerback Keiwan Ratliff. "But you know if you eliminate some of your mistakes, you could eliminate some of the things he was capable of doing."

And yes, the Bengals made mistakes. That's why, in spite of Carson Palmer's best showing in quite a while, they came up two points and a timeout short. And that's the point.
The only way to beat Michael Vick, when he plays as he did Sunday, is to approximate perfection. Had the Bengals done that, Palmer wouldn't have overthrown Ocho Cinco on a streak pattern to start the second half. Had they approximated perfection, Robert Geathers would have gathered up Vick's fumble when he had the chance.

Had the Bengals been impeccable Sunday, they wouldn't have had to use up a timeout early in the third quarter because their kickoff coverage wasn't quite right - a timeout they sorely needed late in the game to give Palmer more than 19 seconds to get into winning field-goal range. Had they been faultless, they would have appealed the play in the first half when the Atlanta receiver's foot came down out of bounds. Had things gone unfailingly their way, they would have been awarded a pass-interference call on the third-down play when the Falcons defender rammed into T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

It was a game that left no room for error because the visiting quarterback committed none. For 60 minutes of a cloudless Sunday, perfection wore No. 7 in white.

Michael Vick has thrown seven TDs in the last two games and already has 10 this season. His career high is 16.

Uh-oh.

The Falcons are now tied for first place in the south with both the Bucs and the Panties lookin bad. If #7 continues to play like this, the south could be a cake walk to the finish for our Falcons. We can't let up though, the Lions game is big, so lets make it happen.

Everybody wants to talk about Naw'lins and the importance of this game from their point of view, but what about my Falcons.

There is a game to be played here

So for more on those Saints, i spoke to the best(and only)Aints Blogger alive Matt Heitzmann from Saints watch weblog.

Matt:Hey Erik! Good to hear from you buddy.

Erik: Big game on MNF, i'm pumped.

Erik:How the hell are the Saints 2-0. Is it because of easy compitition or are they good.

Matt: I think you hit on two areas that need to be taken in consideration. As we all know the Browns are not living up to any expectations that Cleveland fans may have had before the season started. The Packers are not a good team either but here is the thing you have to remember about the Pack. Even though they may not be a good squad they can still be trouble. Last year they started 0-4 before torching the Saints 52-3 in week five.

The point is that even though the Pack are not great they can still pour it on any given week. The other aspect is that I think the Saints defense is raising a few eyebrows and were underestimated in pre-season. Am I saying they are the next coming of the "Dome Patrol?" No, but they have made strides from last season.

Erik: How good is Reggie Bush? Is he as good as Sports Center makes him? I think he's overhyped myself.

Matt: He is the real deal. He deserves the hype as much as Michael Vick does. I am not just saying that because he is a New Orleans Saint but let's just say that the Houston Texans are now on my Christmas Card list.

Bush has not put up incredible numbers yet and every time he gets the ball it gives the Saints an opportunity to score with every touch just like Michael Vick

Erik:Is he as good as SC makes him out to be?

Matt: Yes he is.

Erik: But i'm a big Duece fan, how has he looked? (He kills the Falcons)

This past week Deuce was able to finally put to rest a mental block by a nice performance at Lambeau Field where his season ended last year with an injury. He looks like he is back and with Bush taking some pressure off of him, he should stay fresh well into the season.

Erik: Alright, Who the hell is the new rookie reciever i keep hearing about? Colston, right?

You are probably talking about WR Marques Colston - 8 receptions, 107 yards, 2 touchdowns. From what I hear the Saints coaching staff has so much confidence in Marques that they felt WR Donte Stallworth was no longer needed considering this was a contract year and Donte probably would have requested big money for one decent season (last year). There is no ill will towards Donte and he has had nothing but good things to say about the Saints since the trade. We wish him luck!

Erik:Although you are a Falcons hater from a long line of Falcons haters, are you impressed with my crew?

Yes I am. I really thought that Carolina would have taken the divsion by storm. I am glad to see that the coaching staff is allowing Vick to do what he does best. No it's not good for opposing defenses like the Saints but he has such great talent and anyone would tell you that it pains them to see him last season trying to make certain things work that are not his forte'

Erik: How about that Saints defense, Matt?

Matt: This week will be a huge test. Sure they already stopped Favre and Green however this week will gauge where exactly the Saints defense ranks. It will be interesting how this plays out. I will GUARANTEE you this Monday night game will be 1000% more exciting than last week's sleep fest between Jacksonville and Pittsburgh!!!!

Erik: You do know that Vick owns your Saints

Matt: Yeah I know. There is a conspiracy theory that whenever the Saints and Flacons would play that Aaron Brooks could not handle the pressure of the media hype always calling the game the "Battle of the Cousins." At first I did not buy into to but have you seen the Raiders? That is another interview....ouch! Glad Brooks is gone and hopefully Brees & Co. can break the "Curse of Vick!"

Erik How big is this game in Nawlins?

Matt: This game is HUGE not only for the 2-0 Saints but for the entire Gulf Coast region. Now for any of your readers that fell that New Orleans should be rebuilding hoospitals and homes instead of football stadiums you are correct. There is a big misconception that the city used FEMA and government assitance money to refurbish the Dome. THIS IS NOT TRUE! The $180 million renovation was completed with insurance policy money and money that was in the government coffers earmarked legally and exclusively for enhancements to the Superdome itself. I know Falcons fans will appreciate the rebirth of the Superdome as well. It is going to be a great homecoming for both teams.

Erik: What is up with your stupid prediction?

Matt: I predict the Saints squeeze out a victory based on emotion and adreneline.

Do any of you readers remember when i was offered that AOL Sports gig? Yea, well i turned it down.....But the show must go on. They have some new dude running it though. His name is MJD...That's right, MJD. I don't know the guy, but he seems pretty cool, he has a sense of humor too....

You may have noticed a new wrinkle or two in the Falcons offense this season, wrinkles that have been imported from West Virginia University. Head coach Jim Mora headed to Morgantown this off-season to study Rich Rodriguez's "spread" offense, which should be pretty familiar to some fans in Georgia.

It's described here as the "option," which isn't entirely accurate. It's an option in the sense that the quarterback has the option to keep the ball or hand it to the running back. But it's not the traditional option you might think of, with the QB running down the line of scrimmage, then deciding whether or not to pitch to the running back. The read from the quarterback in this option comes immediately after the snap, which is taken out of the shotgun. The quarterback reads the defensive end, and decides to either give the ball to the running back who takes it between the tackles, or he keeps it himself and runs outside.

The other key principle to the system is that it comes out of the shotgun, with three or four wide receivers, spreading the defense out. A defense can't run a traditional set, because they have to account for the extra wide receiver(s), which opens up more running lanes for the offense.

There are a couple of differences, though. One, West Virginia's quarterback doesn't have herpes. Two, the Falcons don't run it full-time, like West Virginia does. The linked article says they'll only go to it six or so times per game. Of course, that may continue to rise if Michael Vick and Warrick Dunn keep rushing for 125 yards per game each, as they did against Tampa Bay.

If the Saints defense, ranked 7th against the run, can slow down the rushing attack of the Falcons, 558 total rushing yards this season, the Saints may have a chance to beat the red hot Falcons. Throw in the 12th man in a Dome filled with rabid fans and the Saints could pull out a win.

Prediction: The Falcons may have Vick however the Saints will eat into the Falcons 23rd ranked passing defense with Horn and Bush. The Saints do a great job in slowing down the run in a shootout that the Saints ultimately win.

Saints anticipating Falcons' two-headed rushing monster

New Orleans Saints defensive end Charles Grant knows Michael Vick is going to get his scratch. Whether it's with his arm, with his feet, or both, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback has shredded the Saints to the tune of 5-0 in his career.

"Everybody in the world knows that Michael Vick is going to deliver," Grant said.

Fellow speedster Reggie Bush hasn't shared the playing field with Vick, but Bush said Vick is one of the main reasons for the Falcons' 2-0 start.

"Michael Vick is going to put on a show," Bush said. "That's what he does. He's a performer."
Vick and running back Warrick Dunn comprise Atlanta's two-headed rushing monster that has crushed the rest of the NFC South.

The Falcons blew up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a franchise-record 306 yards last week. In Week 1, Vick, Dunn and former Mississippi State tailback Jerious Norwood ran for a mere 252 yards against the vaunted Carolina Panthers defense.

"We've made a commitment to run the football around here for two years going on three now," Falcons coach Jim Mora said. "We've been fortunate to get the lead in these last two games and have some success running the ball and play good defense, which enables us to keep running the ball."

As electric as Vick can be, Grant said the key isn't to halt the left-handed quarterback.

"We've got to stop Warrick Dunn," Grant said. "And then hey, then it's a football game."

After his marvelous team debut John Abraham named NFC Defensive Player of the Week . Abraham's amassed two sacks, two forced fumbles, six tackles, one pass defensed, and several QB hurries.

But as has been the case for Mr.Abraham, he left the game early with an injury. So on Monday the falcons signed defensive end Josh Mallard, one of the team's final preseason cuts, For DE help.

In a series of moves Monday. The transaction could signal that there is concern about the availability of defensive end John Abraham for Sunday's home opener against Tampa Bay.

Abraham suffered a groin injury late in Sunday's 20-6 victory at Carolina.

Mallard, who played collegiately at Georgia, had a solid exhibition season but was released in favor of undrafted rookie Paul Carrington. With Abraham's playing status unclear and left starting defensive end Patrick Kerney sustaining a strained right triceps against Carolina, Mallard would provide depth as Carrington would be the only remaining defensive end on the roster.

The only worry i had about John was the injurys, this has been the story of his career. But to be fair, he's a monster, so you deal with it. I'd love to have him on aSunday, but groin injurys usualll take more then a week to heal. Hell, it's takes my groin nearly a week to heal after gettting nicked in the sack, can you imagine foootball with that!

The Yucs come into town after a manhandling by the Ravens. This will be a tough game for the Falcons, so for help i hope to get in touch with Ski, from the The Worst Bucs Blog in the next day or two so he can explain, in detail, why his squad was raped last week.

Movie Time!

Saw 3 is right around the corner. So here is the plot to my favorite movie series.

Jigsaw has disappeared. Now aided by his new apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith), the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. While city detectives scramble to locate him, Dr. Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) is unaware that she is about to become the latest pawn on his vicious chessboard.

One night, after finishing a shift at her hospital, Lynn is kidnapped by the deranged Amanda and taken to an abandoned warehouse where she meets Jigsaw, aka: John Kramer (Tobin Bell), who's now bedridden and on the verge of death. Lynn is told that she must keep the madman alive for as long as it takes Jeff (Angus Macfayden), another of his victims, to complete a game of his own.

Racing against the ticking clock of Jigsaw's own heartbeat, Lynn and Jeff struggle to make it through each of their vicious tests, unaware that Jigsaw and Amanda have a much bigger plan for both of them...

I thought Jigsaw died. I guess not. It says the final puzzle, so is this the last one? Probably so. I hope they explain what happened to the last cop. Probably dead....Lets move on

Quit Bitchin--- Early game preview

It's that time once again...... Time for Football.

The time when you wake up 12 o clock in the morning on Sunday and get ready for a day of nothing but your ass and the couch.

The day when you walk around in the same underwear you were wearing Saturday(Don't act like it's just me) . Your nut's smell like a bag of arm pitts and you don't give a fuck because pussy is the last thing on your mind.

Football is here fella's, Let's enjoy the next couple of months. You know it's going to be over soon.

Oh yea, it's also that time of the year. The Panthers are already bitching about the Falcons' cut blocks.

Defensive ends Julius Peppers and Mike Rucker both suffered sprained ankles last year against Atlanta when Falcons players legally tackled them below the knees. Although Peppers was able to play the next week, Rucker was sidelined for one game with the injury.

Previous experience with the cut blocks, coupled with watching Atlanta continue the practice through the preseason, has the Panthers on high alert.

"That's them, that's their scheme and that's what works for them," Rucker said Tuesday. "Done right in certain situations, it works and is effective for them. Otherwise people wouldn't do it."

If the Panthers had their way, the practice wouldn't be allowed at all.

It's my return to blogging!!! Well in 2 weeks atleast.

Yep, I'm back to make my white daddy proud.

So i was going to post anyway, but to my surprise and luck there is actually some news.

Bitch named Ashlie Lelie joins Falcons in three-team deal and the Falcons also sign the slimmed down(!) 359 pound DT Grady Jackson

This is good news, lelie is a burner just like Roddy White, and Micheal Jenkins is more of a slot reciever so he should just ease right into the mix as a number 3. I'm shocked he'd come here after bitching about wanting to be a number 1 in denver, but if he plays well he can earn that job here in the Atl. Something not likely in Denver

As for Slim, i doubt he'll be around for the whole 3 year deal. He'll probably be in a pine box when that deal is done. But our D line is set for the next 2 years with him, Kern, Abe and Hot Rod.

Now we are ready for some football

Alright, in 2 weeks i'll be ready to start the Season off. Blog interviews, more Vacations, Metradamus's football picks, more vacations, the shit list, my Superbowl picks and anything else i decide to do.

Oh my lord. I've got caught up in some shit. I witnessed a crime, so i reported it.

Ok i'll tell you what happened...All 13 of you.

I was on my way home from college. Just like any other normal day, like any normal day, i was just glad to get out of that bitch.

So i go home, eat, get N***a-itis and go to bed. Until i go to lower my blinds and i look out of the window. I noticed something, these two dudes were getting oral sex outside of my building!!

Obviously, that's a crime.

I run to the phone and call the police. They arrive, arrest the perps and i head to bed (Pun intented) Another job well done

So later that day, my phone rings. I think it's one of my hoes wanting me to come get some of that funk, that goosish stuff--so i put my E.Love voice on. But it's not one of them.

It's a dude!

He knows that i snitched on his man and he was going to kill me, i think.

So i say "Erik Love speaking, who's this?"

Before the Falcons traded their first round pick to the Jets for John Abraham, i hoped for two men, Michael Huff of Texas and Jimmy Williams of Va Tech. Never did i imagine that one of the two would still be availble in the second round, but there was Jimmy Williams at the start of the second round. So the Falcons gave up a couple of bullshit picks and got the big physical cover corner that they needed.

CB/S. Cedric Griffin, Texas: A big-time hitter who probably will play safety in the NFL. Not a great pass defender but someone who could be groomed to be the in-the-box safety by veteran Lawyer Milloy. Also could contribute immediately on special teams and possibly in nickel coverages.

S Daniel Manning, Abilene Christian: Another big hitter with great speed. Originally signed at Nebraska. He could be better in coverage than Griffin. Manning dominated on the small college level and has a great nose for the ball. He also returns kickoffs and punts and is a punt/kick blocking stalwart. His versatility could be a major plus for the Falcons.

DE Mathias Kiwanuka, Boston College – The 6-5, 256-pound Grandfather of Uganda’s first prime minister is an awesome pass rusher, but only average against the run. The Falcons already have a pass-rushing end in Jonathan Abraham.

DE Darryl Tapp, Va. Tech. – At 6-1, 260, Tapp seems to be a ‘tweener that some teams are looking at as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 alignment. Though small, he is a brutal hitter and relentless playmaker who is stout against the run. There is a faction among the Falcons’ staff that really likes him. Plus, he played collegiately at the Falcons’ AAA farm club.

Call me crazy, but don't the Falcons already have enough safetys and defensive ends?
How about a Defensive Tackle or a Corner or sumthin that we actually need now

Should Atlanta get such an offer, it would seem hard to refuse. Think about it: a first-round pick for a third-round selection with two career starts.

3. Schaub might never be the starter in Atlanta, and the team could get great value in a trade for him. Though the Falcons could match any free-agent offer another team makes for Schaub after the 2006 season — or get compensation if Schaub leaves — his value might never get higher than it is now. Schaub becomes an unrestricted free agent after the 2007 season and could bolt to another team with Atlanta getting nothing.

The feud between Bow Wow and Lil' Romeo has intensified, as Bow Wow has responded to comments Master P made surrounding the two rappers' growing beef. Lil' Romeo's father, Master P confirmed that the two rappers had crossed paths backstage at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Award show, on April 1st.

According to Master P, Bow Wow ran in his trailer and refused to talk about tensions with Lil' Romeo. Now, Bow Wow has come forward to address Master P and Lil' Romeo.

"I can't understand all this, but I guess that's how it is when you ain't getting no attention," Bow Wow told AllHipHop.com. "You can hear me on the radio all day, every day. You [Lil' Romeo] can't sell no records, and your daddy is on Dancing With the Stars."

The Broncos rescued the Jets and Falcons from their stalemate over Abraham, agreeing to send their first-round pick, No. 29, to the Jets. The Falcons traded their first-round pick, No. 15, to Denver, and Atlanta also got a third-round pick this year and a fourth-round pick in 2007 from the Broncos. The deal was officially sealed with a hug and a kiss from Arthur Blank(I assume)

Abraham, is still a young 27, andwill be as comfortable as he pleases with a six-year, $45-million contract to play in Atlanta.

The Broncos made out like theifs in this trade. They moved up almost 15 spots in the draft for two mid round picks. The Jets will most likely use their pick to move up in the draft and get another(!) QB. And the Falcons upgrade their defensive line with John Abraham. Everybody wins.

Never like giving up a first round pick, but if the end of the first round comes along and a player Atlanta likes is still there, they can use their extra picks to maybe move up and get him, like they did in 2004 to get Michael Jenkins

Sources: Falcons Pursuing Deal To Land Jets' Abraham

The Atlanta Falcons are working hard to assemble the appropriate pieces of a trade package intended to lure prized defensive end John Abraham from the New York Jets, ESPN and ESPN.com have confirmed through league sources.

One significant road bump to a deal that, despite ongoing efforts from both sides, remains a long shot: The Falcons steadfastly refuse to include two-year veteran quarterback Matt Schaub, the player Jets officials regard as the centerpiece to any deal, in their trade proposals.

It is believed the Jets are seeking Schaub and the Falcons' second-round draft pick for Abraham.

Without the inclusion of Schaub, the backup to Michael Vick and a youngster whose résumé includes just two regular-season starts, the swap might never be consummated. But Atlanta in particular continues to pursue it and hopes to craft a package that might attract the Jets, but without having to surrender Schaub or the Falcons' first-round draft choice, the 15th overall selection in the lottery.

The Falcons should wait this thing out as long as they can. Nobody is giving the Jets are first round pick for John Abraham, and niether should we. The closer we get to the draft, the better.

John Abraham had a big season last year, he registered 67 tackles, 10½ sacks, six forced fumbles, one recovery and two passes defensed. But, he doesn't play hurt(Really) and everybody knows that he doesn't want to come back to the Jets and the Jets don't want him back, so the Jets aren't dealing from a position of strength.

If Daunte Culpepper only got the Vikings a second round pick, than we should only give the Jets a second round pick. Maybe a 2nd and a 4th round pick would do. I'll trade Schuab for a high draft pick, not for an expensive oft injurded defensive lineman. Might as well bring Brady Smith back

Duckett Addressing '05 Failures In Offseason

In other news, the Falcons Falcons have Offered Lawyer Milloy a 3 Years deal.

Milloy, 32, played seven seasons with New England before playing the last three with Buffalo. He was released by the Bills for salary-cap reasons.

Milloy, a four-time Pro Bowler, has averaged 103 tackles over his 10-year career. He had 106 tackles last season. He may be the stopper the Falcons have been missing.

"They talked about a leadership role because of his experiences," Poston said. "Being a Pro Bowl player, Super Bowl champion and Super Bowl veteran, he could add maturity and be a good decision maker in the secondary."

The Falcons tandem of Bryan Scott and Keion Carpenter started at safety for most of last year. Carpenter, a free agent, is not expected to be re-signed, and Scott will fight for a roster spot.

What the hell is up with these long term contracts to these older players.Falcons give Brian Finneran a 4 year deal and now want to offer a 3 year deal to Milloy. On to the Falcons

STEVE WYCHE continues his great off season work by writing about the Falcons seeking immediate help on defense.

The Falcons have made no secret they've targeted defensive help, but claim it's too early in the evaluation process to determine which unsettled position — most likely defensive end or safety — would be addressed with the 15th overall pick.

Which player the Falcons pick could be determined by which players are drafted with the top 14 picks.

However, Atlanta probably will spend extra time during the next few days with Texas safety Michael Huff, Virginia Tech cornerback Jimmy Williams, a converted safety who some project to return to his natural spot in the pros, defensive ends Mario Williams of North Carolina State and Tamba Hali of Penn State.

Atlanta plans to fortify its secondary and right defensive end spot, where veteran Brady Smith's health remains a question, through free agency. The Falcons hope to overhaul both safety spots and would like a veteran to complement a younger player along the last line of defense.

"It's never perfect to have to rely upon a rookie to play a great deal for you, but in some instances, there are rookies who could do it and help you win," Falcons president/general manager Rich McKay said. "Some guys can play on first down, different situations, that type of thing. Two years ago, we started DeAngelo Hall as a rookie at corner and made it to the NFC championship game and, as you can see, he's a pretty good player."

The Falcons also want to fill needs or add depth at cornerback, offensive line and tailback. With Brian Finneran, Dez White and Jerome Pathon set to become free agents, Atlanta also could draft a wide receiver, something it has done in the first round the past two drafts. It is unlikely the Falcons would use another first-round selection on a wide receiver, though.

In the first round we'll most like draft a safety, right? Let's just say we get lucky and draft Michael Huff. So how about we put him at one safety spot and move Demorrio Williams to the other safety spot. He's atletic enough to play safety, right?

Atlanta likes to have 8 men in the box, so he'd be like the fourth linebacker anyway. I like Michael Boley, Brooking and Hartwell as the starters, so Demorrio will only play some backup linebacker. I think he's to good for that. We put Demorrio in the box on obvious running situations and will have our fastest players on the field together. Demorrio wouldn't have to stand over linemen, he'll be able to use his speed.

Why not give it a try? The Seahawks turned Michael Bolware into a safety, why can't we do the same with Demorrio? That would improve our run defense greatly in my opinion. It's worth a shot. It'll probably never happen, but i'd give it a try when training camp comes around.

Did anybody else notice that Michael Vick said this on thursday in the USA Today?

Vick said in Thursday's USA Today that Knapp "needs to know exactly what type of talent he's working with. . . . You've got to be creative. There's no reason I should be passing for only 2,300 yards for the season. My passing attempts per game [2/4.2] are not even that high. I hope it's not that they don't believe in me, because I believe in me."

Mike is driving over knapp, reversing the bitch, and running over him again. The only thing left for Mike to do is play the race card. The Jamie Fox speech from "Any Given Sunday" would work perfectly.

Despite arguably being the Falcons' MVP last season, his high price tag, age (31) and durability, seemingly would make Warrick Dunn a prime candidate to become one of the salary-cap sacrifices teams make every offseason. There even was a published report that said the Seahawks had Dunn on their radar should be available.

Mora: Dunn's Not Finished Here

"Warrick Dunn isn't going anywhere," Mora said in an e-mail Thursday. "Warrick epitomizes what we believe an Atlanta Falcon should be both on and off the field. He has been one of most productive players over the past two seasons and is a great fit for this offense. I'm excited to see him out on the field helping us win games again in 2006."

Matt Winkeljohn returns to insult Coach Mora again-- Just kidding. He talks a little about Matt Schaub

I won’t be shocked if Schaub moves. He’s going to be a restricted free agent next year (not this), and it’ll take some jack to keep him. This team already has a bunch of money invested in that position, major, major money. And moving Vick won’t be an option, financially, for a few years.

Some would say more importantly, this team needs draft picks not only to add talent’s sake, but to do it at their price … or at least a predictable price. Free agency is not predictable. You can ballpark with great accuracy the cap charges for all draft choices. Given the Falcons’ pending cap problems (somewhat difficult to peg exactly as league officials hold out what I believe is somewhat ill-fated hope for a CBA extension to soon materialize), financial considerations are more important that in most years.

Best-case scenario, Atlanta’s going to have to pare some cap space no matter what this spring. Some difficult decisions will be necessary no matter what. No extension, and it’ll be worse. It’s not that moving Schaub would create so much in the way of point-of-transaction cap savings, but rather that bringing in another draft pick will effectively drop cap debt in years to come.

Of course, if they don’t subsequently acquire a competent QB at a reasonable rate (see a veteran looking for a chance to resurrect his career, quite possibly on a one-year contract), the move could blow up in the FO’s face in a big way if Vick goes down. Although Matt Hasselbeck was a sixth-rounder and not a third-rounder like Schaub, this situation is somewhat similar. Green Bay already had big money in the QB position, liked Hasselbeck, but was able to get value in return from Seattle (running back Ahman Green) for him even before he was ready for the big time. Not to suggest the Falcons can get an Ahman Green-type player, but maybe you get the drift.

The market might never get better for Schaub because if the Falcons wait for him to hit restricted free agency, a mid-level tender will fetch a first-round pick. But if Schaub doesn’t play well next year, or he doesn’t play at all, the odds drop of another team being willing to swap a first-round pick. The time is now. Sorry to lay so low for so long. Or, perhaps I should say “You’re welcome,” to others.

Alright, follow the kid on this one. We trade Schaub to either, Detroit (#9) Arizona (#10) St. Louis (#11) Cleveland(#12) or Baltimore (#13). Than we draft either Haloti Ngata (DT Oregon) or Tamba Hali (DE Penn St.) with that pick and take Mr.Williams with the 15th pick overall. That's if Mike Huff is gone of course. Maybe we can get Darnell Bing in the second round

Gibbs To Return To Falcons

Alex Gibbs, the offensive line coach whose zone-blocking schemes have keyed the Falcons' NFL-best rushing offense the past two seasons, informed the Falcons that he would return as a part-time consultant next season.

Gibbs' return, "is good news for us," coach Jim Mora said in his only comment, which came via email.

Screw that consultant role he had last season. I want Alex Gibbs back on the field next season as our Offensive Line Coach. I want Coach Gibbs to turn young Frank Omiyale into a cut blocking machine!

Finally, the great Michael Vick has risen from his grave to tell us how he feels

On his punk brother Marcus-- Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick believes Virginia Tech overreacted when the school dismissed his brother, Marcus, from the football team after he stomped on an opposing player during the Gator Bowl.

"Sometimes your emotions just take over," Michael Vick said during halftime Wednesday night of the Atlanta Hawks' game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. "I know Marcus. He's not the kind of kid that's going to do something like that on purpose. That's just something he's got to live with, and now it's just time to move on."

The 21-year-old is free on $10,000 bond until he makes a March court appearance in Suffolk, Va., to face three misdemeanor counts of brandishing a firearm.

"No, I ain't mad," Michael Vick said. "He didn't do anything wrong. The world will all know when the truth comes out."

A quick update on my thoughts of the season.

It was terrible!

Jim Mora proved the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The whole team went home against the Panthers. It was just plain hard on the eyes. I would've came back earlier, but really, why? I predicted the Falcons to go to the Superbowl, so there was no need to show my face around here. It takes some real vtalent to go 8-8 after starting 6-2. If i'm Aurther Blank i'm firing somebody (Greg Knapp) to show these assholes i mean bussiness.

I stopped watching football after the Bears game. That want did it for me. I couldn't take anymore punsihment i guess.

I guess it's a Steelers- Seahawks Superbowl. Who saw that coming?

Now we have to hear the media slob all over Big Ben. It sure has been a bad week for the manning family. Peyton takes it in the ass last week and now this week it's Eli's turn.

So i guess it's Mike Johnson's fault Mike Vick has continued his downfall. He's going to need a big year next year.

Anywho, i'm real excited about baseball and the NFL draft. It's right around the time i do my yearly job of writing off the Atlanta Braves. It's been 14 years in a row now. The Nfl draft is coming up, this is what i want.

Yes, I'm still alive.

No, I didn't die from the Atlanta Falcons drinking game. Although i did play, which made Sundays loss alot easier for Erik.

I'm having computer problems. Major computer problems. It's moving very slow, the colors have changed. It's pretty fucked up right now.

So, what can i say? Atleast it happened at a good time, right? The division championship is gone for Atlanta. Perfect timing as i see it.

I'll try to get the computer working as soon as possible. It can take a week or two, as i am a poor college student.

Ugh. Today i had to go to the DMV to get my drivers license (First ever) I walked into the DMV with a huge smile on my face, but little did i know what i was getting into. I was in there for 4 hours before they called me to take my picture.

So by the time i got home, i had nobody to interview (It is the interview day) So, i went searching on the net, and at the last minute i found Brad Thomas from http://www.Pantherfreaks.com. Erik: The Panthers have scored 1 TD the past 2 weeks. What is the cause of these offensive woes?

Brad: First and foremost would be the Bears defense -- they are very stout. Secondarily, the Panthers have tried to get their anemic running game going, and have made that an emphasis... resulting in Deshaun Foster becoming the feature back over Stephen Davis. The Panthers offense isn't as dynamic as people think, it's very one dimensional, and if you take that one dimension away, they will struggle like they have the last two weeks

Erik: How has Jake Delhomme's season been as a whole? He's prone to the interception, he's a bit of a gambler.

Brad: Bout half of the interceptions have been his fault, the other half result in the WR running the wrong route, passes they tip, etc that should be caught. Jake is a gambler -- like Favre, he'll take chances and he gets burned once in a while. The inconsistency in the WR corps, besides Smith, has really caused problems because in the Panthers offense, there aren't many options other than the two WRs they trot out there. Foster is actually the second leading receiver on the team, mostly because of checkdowns by Delhomme due to Colbert's inability to get open. One good thing is that[Kevin] Mathis isn't suiting up for the Falcons this week,

Erik: Steve Smith, he has been amazing. What is the cause for his success?

Brad: Smith has been one of their better playmakers for the last few years. Coming off the broken leg last year, he's actually faster and stronger than he was before. He's smarter football-wise, and he and Delhomme have built up a great on-field rapport with one another. He trains nearly all year, and he has a great work ethic. I think he just understands the game more now.

Erik: Yea, i've noticed that. Does Jake Delhomme even look at the other receivers?

Brad: Yes, but he doesn't have much faith in anyone other than Ricky Proehl

Erik: ILL. Isn't Ricky Proehl about 49 now?

Brad: Haha, I think he's 36-37

Erik: Alright, Back to Smith. what do you think about his big time matchup against DeAngelo Hall? Do you think it will be a one sided performance by Smith?

Brad: No -- Hall is definitely one of the better young corners in the league. I expect the Falcons to double Smith with a safety, giving the Falcons the edge. Taking away Smith is the key for the Falcons defense on Sunday. They do that and everything else falls into place

Erik: Tell me about Coach John Fox. I thought he has stuck with Stephen Davis a little to long when your consider Stephen' s ypg. How do you think Coach John Fox has been this season?

Brad: I think most panther fans trust John Fox, since he's been the best coach we've had in our young history. But many fans have villified the Offensive Coordinator, Dan Henning, for making some boneheaded calls. Still, nobody knows why they had such a hard on for Stephen Davis earlier in the season, but they are glad we're finally seeing Foster as the feature back now. I think Fox has done a great job with what he's got around him... but nobody would be sad to see the offensive and defensive coordinators (Mike Trgovac) hit the road. Ultimately that is Fox's call... and it might be what turns things sour for him down the road. But for now, Fox's bandwagon is full in Carolina.

Erik:Lets move on to the defense, before the season i said Julius Peppers was the most overrated defensive player alive. He has proven me to be a genius

Brad: One thing that Peppers tends to do is take himself out of plays by being too aggressive. People see that Peppers didn't have gaudy stats and assume he's had a bad season -- but he's been battling an ankle sprain all year, a broken hand, and double teams. Sack production? not been exactly what Panther fans would want to see, but he's had a lot of pressure on the QB and is the most complete DE in the NFL right now. He's come one strong lately as the Panthers defensive line has stabilized. I think most fans that don't watch the Panthers on a weekly basis would think he's struggled, but he hasn't. Teams game plan to take him out of the game, and they do half the time.

Erik: Ok, is Michael Vick inside the Panthers players head? I've been reading some quotes from, Buckner and Chris Draft. They seem sick of hearing about him. Does he have their number?

Brad: Without a doubt, Vick is their nemesis. It seems like these are the game's (against Carolina) Vick tends to show that he is superhuman. I don't think the Panthers can move forward without beating the Falcons with Vick at QB. - Mentally.

Erik: As a fan, do you just expect Vick to continue to own the Panthers. Also, what's your opinion on Vick?

Brad: I don't expect it, but I wouldn't be surprised. [On Vick] Do I think he's a good QB? No. Do I think he's a good athlete? Yeah. I think he's over-rated. The media tends to flock to guys that win unconventionally. His passer rating isnt very impressive, but he does what it takes to win, and that's all that is important. I hate the bastard.

Erik: Brad is getting crunk!! That's alot of venom coming from your mouth bro.

Brad: It's a hatred -- but that's good. I think both our teams need a team to hate, and I'm sorry we haven't given you a reason to hate us yet--we're working on it. You guys have a great team down there, it's not exactly conventional offensively, but hey, whatever wins games wins games -- I think they will undoubtedly make the playoffs, either as the division winner or as a wild card. It's still too easy to say which that will be.

Erik: 4th and 12, last offensive play of the game for Atlanta. I'm sure you remember that play it like it was yesterday. Take us back to that day.... almost a year ago. Did you cry like a little School Girl?

Brad: Cry... no... but the kids heard probably the most foul language they've ever heard out of their dad! I still am amazed at that play. To think -- had the Panthers stopped Vick on that play, they probably make the playoffs... but instead it just intensifies Vick's legend.

Erik: Wasn't it great!!?

Brad: No. Not really

Erik: Alright, alright. What will Carolina do differently against Atlanta this time around?

Brad: The sole reason Thomas Davis was drafted is to stop (or try to stop) Vick. He'll more than likely be a spy the entire game, much like the Bucs have Derrick Brooks in their defense.

Erik: Don't give Derrick Brooks to much credit. Except for that one play at the end, he was invisable against Atlanta. Wait a second....Isn' t Thomas a safety?

Brad: No. He thinks he is... but he's what they are calling a Joker Linebacker now. Blitzing, covering TE, etc

Erik: Dan Morgan is a big loss on Sunday, It's a pretty average linebacker corp with him there. Chris Draft is a bum

Brad: Dan Morgan should be back, but Draft will play some. Draft was interviewed yesterday and stated that Morgan (who was out with an ankle injury) actually could have played last week, but they wanted to make sure he'd be back for this game on Sunday... so I'm sure coach Fox wouldn't be happy to see me spilling the beans right now.

Witherspoon is a good player, and has pro bowl level talent, but Morgan is the lynch pin. Draft and Short aren't that impressive, you are right. Witherspoon has been our most consistent LB -- Morgan is our best.

Erik: From all 3 of the Panther fans that i actually like(and know) all i ever hear is that "Ken Lucas is the shit" non sense. Your an insider, how has Lucas been so far(before he's introduced to Roddy White)

Brad: He should make the Pro Bowl, great in coverage and a solid tackler. The Panthers corners are as good as advertised, but their safeties could be better. Minter is a SS playing FS, and because of that he's been beaten deep a few times this season. McCree has been OK at SS. Overall, I'd give them a B.

Erik: Do you think the front 4 will be able to handle the leagues best rushing attack?

Brad: They've been OK, statistically they've stopped the run pretty well all season. they have the #3 rush defense in the NFL, so it'll be an interesting game matching up against the Falcons this week. Buckner is showing signs of age though, yeah. Rucker and Peppers have been solid though.

Erik: Alright, Armed with a weapon of your choice. Which Carolina Panther would you use it on?

Brad: Wet Paper Bag-- Stephen Davis.

Erik: Wet Paper Bag?

Brad: Put davis in it --- he could never get out.

Erik: Ugh-- don't quit your day job.

Erik: Alright, it's time to man up. I'm going to need a game prediction from you

Brad: I think the Panthers finally beat the Vick-led Falcons because of Vick's mistakes. 24-17 Panthers win

Brad: Interceptions. Plural

He was too small, they said. He couldn't take the pounding. He couldn't run between the tackles. He is nothing more than a thirddown back.

Alright, maybe it was me that said all those things about Warrick Dunn when he was signed by Atlanta in the summer of 2002.

But could you blame me?

In College, he had to continually lobby to head coach Bobby Bowden to give him the ball more. Warrick Dunn had had two 1,000-yard seasons -- 1,026 in 1998 and 1,133 in 2000 for Tampa and they still didn't want him back.

My thinking was "If the Bucs don't want him, why should we?" I didn't want somebody elses trash. Going from Jamal Anderson to Warrick Dunn was a huge downgrade in my mind. One was a work horse type running back that had set the NFL record for carries in a season, while the other was a 5-foot-9, 180-pound scatt back.

DOWNGRADE

It's not like i was the only person that didn't want Dunn in a Falcons uniform. Hell, Dan Reeves didn't want him in a Falcons uniform. Arthur Blank made the final call to sign him to a six-year, $28.5 million contract in 2002. And a month later Coach Reeves drafted Michigan State running back T.J. Duckett in the first round. So if the Head Coach doesn't want you on his team, why should i? When Dunn fell behind Duckett on the depth chart during each of his two years as head coach, nobody enjoyed it more than me.

I'll make it clear, I did not Warrick Dunn as an Atlanta Falcon.

I've always respected Dunn, his Homes for the Holidays program, where Dunn helps other single mothers by making the down payment on new furnished homes is something special. I just didn't think Warrick Dunn "the football player" deserved a six year contract for almost 30 million dollars.

But recently, my feelings have changed about Warrick Dunn.

Watching Dunn take on Linebackers nearly twice his size will do that to you. On passing downs, it's such a luxery to have as good a blocker as Dunn is in the backfield. It allows Alge Crumpler to become a receiever instead of a blocker, and because of that Crump leads all Falcon receivers with a career-best 50 catches, 633 yards and five touchdowns.

T.J. Duckett was drafted by Atlanta to take his spot, and he still treats the guy great. Everytime Duckett scores a Touchdown that Dunn probably deserves more, Warrick is the first guy on the field to congratulate him.

I don't want to come across as a corny loser(to late), but with all the T.O. non sense that has been going on, and with Dre Bly throwing Joey Harrington under the bus, it's refreshing to see the team first attitude of Warrick Dunn.

Dunn, who turns 31 in January, is enjoying his best pro season with the Falcons. Dunn's 1,094 rushing yards at the moment ranks third in the NFC, trailing only Seattle's Shaun Alexander and Tiki Barber of the Giants, seven runs of at least 20 yards, and his 5.1 average.

Look, there are still times when i want to see T.J. get the majority of the carries, Sunday in Carolina comes to mind. But since Duckett might not be here next year, i wouldn't be against giving Warrick Dunn a contract extension after the season to remain a Falcon.

He might never be Jamal Anderson in my mind, but atleast now i'm happy to have Warrick Dunn as an Atlanta Falcon

More Detroit Lions mess, Detroit Lions cornerback Dre Bly said Monday that head coach Steve Mariucci was fired largely because of the play of quarterback Joey Harrington.

"The quarterback here has been bad, you know, as far as his play, hasn't really gotten the job done, ever since I've been here.'' "If we'd had production on offense, in particular the quarterback position, Mooch wouldn't have been fired," Bly told the Detroit Free Press. "If Jeff Garcia hadn't gotten hurt, we wouldn't be in this position today. Mooch wouldn't have gotten fired."

"We're all at fault, but I just feel like Joey [Harrington]'s been here four years, and being the No. 3 pick in the draft, he hasn't given us anything," Bly told the paper. "He hasn't given us what the third pick in the draft should give us."

Falcons Kick The Stuffing Out of The Lions

The Detroit Lions kept thursday's starting quarterback a secret until game time, Coach Steve Mariucci even went so far to close practice to the media on tuesday. Coach Mariucci might want to apologize to the media after yesterdays game.

In front of a Nationally televised audience, the Falcons embarrassed the the Lions 27-7 at Ford Field. This was one of those owner- writes- an- apology- to- Fox- performances by Detroit. You know your team is horrible when the announcers spend more time talking about the team mascot(Bernie, i think) instead of the actual players. Yesterdays game was so bad that at one point in the third quarter i became a Detroit Lions fan.

I started screaming at the television screen "Throw the damn ball down the fucking field, PLEASE" Steve Mariucci you are the worst coach in football! I hate you!.

By the fourth quarter i just turned the game off and enjoyed some reruns of "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air"

There's this new rumor going around that Mooch might get his well deserved pink slip today. I don't believe in firing coaches during the season, but can you blame the Lions organization for wanting to fire this guy? Atlanta was up 17-0 at halftime, and you knew the game was pretty over.

Everybody always blames the Lions problems on Joey Harrington, but yesterday he was the last guy that deserved to get benched. Harrington will turn out to be a terrible first round draft pick for the Lions but damn, how is he sposse to succeed? His receivers dropped several passes , the offensive line was terrible, Roy Williams fell down on that DeAngelo Hall interception. I mean, how is all of this his fault?

He didn't draft those receivers that can't catch. The best reciever was some guy wearing a quarterbacks number (10) and had the name Vines on the back of his jersey.

"We got beat bad. It was ugly and it was embarrassing" said Lions quarterback Joey Harrington (6-of-13, 61 yards, one interception) "We made too many mistakes again. It's the same mistakes that we've been making all year long. At some point, they have to stop."

That's the Coaches problem, not the Quarterbacks. His replacement, Jeff Garcia was also ineffective. I smell a scapegoat in Detroit

For Atlanta, the Falcons’ O-Line dominated the Lions’ D-Line. It was really impressive watching the holes that were opened up for Warrick Dunn. Dunn gained 116 yards on the ground, accumulating, surpassing the 1,000-yard barrier. Good for him.

Michael Vick ran more than he has been recently, he threw for just 146 yards but rushed for 57. Crumpler had a big game too, catching 7 balls for over 100 yards, including a 32-yard TD pass from Michael Vick.

The defense had a really good game, but it's hard to tell if they've improved or would the Lions Offense make any defense look like the 2000 Ravens.

The most exciting part of the game was probably watching Mariah Carey perform at halftime. She was clearly lip singing.

I'm wondering, how old is Mariah? She has to be atleast 37 by now. She still looks good for her age though

Anyway, good win by our Falcons, and just a dreadful performance by the Lions.

It's nice to see were back to Atlanta Falcons Football. Rushing the passer, running the rock, doing what we do best. It seems like our defense plays better on National T.V.

Joey Harrington is getting a bad rap. He stinks, but Brett Favre couldn't win with this bunch. What the hell has happened to their Wide outs? Some un named dude is the only guy getting open. Mike Williams where ya at? This is a poorly coached team too. It's really hard to watch the Lions....

I love Thanksgiving. It's the only Holiday that you don't have to buy anything, you get to eat, watch football, Thanksgiving is a mans Holiday. The early game tamara is Atlanta at Detroit, and for some insight on the Detroit Lions i interviewed Corey Petryschuk from a very good Lions blog.

Erik: Is there anybody more hated in all of Detroit than Joey Harrington?

Corey: Artest could probably give him a run for his money, maybe one of Mariucci and Millen too

Erik: Yea. Whats your opinion on Harrington?

Corey: I think he hasn't developed any skills since coming into the league. I was worried during the first year, annoyed during the second year and calling for his head during the third. His accuracy is terrible, his decision making is right up there, but I have to say his accuracy is #1. The Lions should cut their losses with him in the offseason.

Erik: Yea, but will they?

Corey: if Millen gets fired, he won't. If Millen keeps his job, it's 50/50 er, he won't be with the team

Erik: How has the media been to my good Buddy, Mooch?

Corey: like any coach that isn't winning with what's perceived to be a good roster, the media's hounding him for every bad move. I think the fans are fairly down and want to see a replacement. Unless the team goes on a miraculous run like they did a while back to save Fontes's job (going from 3-6 to 10-6 and making the playoffs) I think he's done for.

Erik: Didn't Millen get a contract extension?

Corey: Oh jeez, he did get an extension in the summer. I guess he'll be sticking around then.

Erik: What in your opinion is Mooches biggest problem as coach? What do you disagree with in his style He seems a little to soft to me

Corey: a combination of not adapting his style to fit the guys he has (guys like Harrington and Rogers aren't suited for the west coast offense) and being too conservative. with all of these deep receiving targets, they go deep maybe once a game. I wish they ran an offense more like the one Minnesota ran with Moss

Erik: How has the big 3 young recievers been? I read that they've been disappointing

Corey: I think Roy Williams is fantastic and has the capability to be a star, but he's too injury prone these days. Rogers is pretty much a bust and even if he wasn't, Harrington doesn't seem to like throwing to him anyway. Mike Williams's career is too short to judge yet. His hands don't seem particularly good so far

Erik: So what is the strong suit on Offense?

Corey: At the start of the year, I would've said it was close between Jones and Roy Williams. but with the bad year Jones is having (part of that is due to the line). Roy Williams is pretty much miles ahead of the rest of the group

Erik: How has Jones been so far?

Cory: 3.2 yards per carry, rarely finding holes, rarely breaking tackles aside from in the Minnesota gamem completely different from last year's magnificient second half of the season. Schlesinger was out for a bit, but even him being back hasn't helped much

Erik: Yea. Good for him, he's playing our run defense next. He'll get his first 100 yard game of the season

Cory: 22nd in the league. maybe, depends on how many carries he gets.

Erik: All he needs is 15

Corey: he hasn't had 15 carries in a game in four weeks

Erik: Trust me, he'll get atleast 15 carries

Erik: Tell me about the defense, How have they been?

Corey: with Bly in the lineup, the D is wicked and was doing a great job (aside from in the Chicago game, where the bad field position beat them up) without Bly in the lineup, they've been mediocre to bad. says here he's cleared to play on Thursday. So, I'm excited. Bly's been out the last four games and I think their overall defense ranking has dropped something like six or seven spots

Erik: Whats the strength of the D ? The front 7 or the secondary

Corey: always the front seven, even with Bly in. even though they stunk it up against the Cowboys, I think they have one of the better D Lines in the league Rogers, Wilkinson, Hall and Redding/Edwards/De Vries make up a great combination. they usually pass rush quite well

Erik: How has Boss Bailey been in his short career? I was hoping the Falcons could take him a couple years back but detroit did.

Corey: hurt half the time, speeding around and generally making good tackles the rest of the time. much like Roy Williams, he'd be dangerous if he were healthy more

Erik: Whats your opinion on the Atlanta Falcons Offense

Corey: I think Vick is fantastic. I picked the Falcons to get to the Super Bowl in the preseason and much of that had to do with their O (I had the Ravens beating them, but obviously that hasn't worked out very well). With so many good rushers, they should be dangerous in the playoffs (presuming they get there)

Erik: Don't feel bad.... I picked the JETS!!

Corey: Well atleast you can blame that on injuries

Erik: I guess Can the Lions stop the run?

Corey: All depends on whether the linebackers feel like tackling or not. Rogers and Wilkinson tend to do a good job of plugging the middle, but I'm sure Dunn and Vick will be heading to the outside constantly

Erik: Can the secondary be picked on at times?

Corey: if they keep it away from Bly, the secondary is a fairly easy target, particularly if Goodman is getting the bulk of the time at the other spot. If they start trying to pick on Bly, he's bound to force a turnover or two. he has four picks and two forced fumbles in his six games so far this year one recovery too

Erik: If you were armed with a Knife. Which Lion would you use it on?

Corey: Jeff Backus. he's persistently having defensive ends run around him and holding.

Erik: Dude, your paying way to much attention to Offensive Lineman

Corey: Backus is a special case. Harrington would be my second choice.

Erik: Let me get a game prediction man

Corey: I'm calling for the upset Bly back and playing on Thanksgiving should invigorate I'll go with 17-14 Lions, with the Lion defense causing most of those points on the left. Harrington's had two great/good games in a row, since three constitutes a pattern, I don't expect him to have another good one. it's not official that he's starting, but I'd bet that they're sticking with him. 17-14 Lions

Well, if Arthur Blank was mad after last Sunday's game, he must be fucking hot after this one.

The Falcons got off to a miserable start for the second week in a row. They fell behind Green Bay 14-0 midway through the first quarter and went on to a 33-25 loss. The Falcons again continued their miserable trend of letting teams punish them on the ground.

It's amazing. Tampa Bay managed only 258 yards on offense, and Cadillac Williams had nearly half of them.

Cadillac Williams hasn't had over 40 yards rushing in about 2 years, until he comes to Atlanta and rushes for over 110 yards on less than 20. The first fucking run of the game, he goes 30 yards untouched up the middle. And in the last half of the fourth quarter, Cadi ran 7 times for 40 yards. The poor run defense led to another tough loss at home for the Falcons.

"In the end, we couldn't stop the run and they just got in two tights and two backs and just kept pounding us. We couldn't stop them. That's basically what it came down to. We couldn't make the plays to win the game and seal the victory. It was very disappointing. I can't explain how sick I am and how I feel right now" Linebacker Keith Brooking said

Joey Galloway, third in the league in both yards receiving and touchdown catches, didn't even have a catch! I don't think they threw it his way more than twice. They are in two tight end formations, everybody in the building knows they are going to run the ball, and you still get thrown around?

Not to be out done by the run defense, the pass rush put up another doughnut in the sack column.

This defense is a joke

Atleast the Offense decided to show up yesterday. Atlanta fell behind 13-0, then moved the ball at will against Tampa Bay.

Michael Vick was on fire on Sunday, he led Atlanta on five straight scoring possessions. Vick started the game off slow ( 2 for 8) and had to leave the game briefly after Bucs defensive tackle Booger McFarland bull rushed Falcons guard Kynan Forney into Michael Vick for a sack at the 1-yard line. Vick was also hit late by Greg Spires but the official's weren't in the mood to call penaltys on the Bucs in the first half.

On the next play, Simeon Rice does what he normally does against Falcons left tackle Kevin Shaffer, he ran right past Shaffer and sacked backup QB Matt Schaub. Schaub fumbed and Booger recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown. I have no clue why the Falcons were throwing on third and 22, somebody needs to explain that to me. I wish i could ask Jim Mora a couple questions like

Why would you have your backup Quarterback do a play action pass in the end zone after he just got rushed off the bench into the game?

Why not give the ball to Duckett and let him get out of the endzone so we can punt?

Maybe that late hit by Spires woke Vick up because he started picking apart the Bucs secondary. He hit Roddy White for a 54 yard bomb, on a great catch by Roddy, where he had to turn around and catch it. The Falcons scored on a 1-yard T.J. Duckett run with 20 seconds left in the half. Vick was just getting started, he was almost atomatic on third down. The Falcons converted 11-of-17 on third down, mostly on third and long situations

"Mike threw some balls that took your breath away," Rice said.

Vick finished 21-of-38 for 306 yards in just the second 300-yard game of his career.

We deserved to win on Sunday, we ran 30 more plays than Tampa, we won the time of possesion battle. We had a chance to win. Michael Koenen, who is used on long field goals because he has a much stronger leg than Todd Peterson, missed the kick, he had enough leg, it just sailed wide of the right upright.

Nothing you can do about that

There are some of positives coming out of this loss.

Michael Jenkins had five receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown. He made a couple of acrobatic catches, finally using his body to box out and catch balls that were high. He's starting to look like a quicker version of Brian Finneran, maybe he can eventually turn into a Plaxico Burress type player. Roddy White has the potential to become a true number 1 reciever. Roddy had four catches for a career-high 108 yards, he beat former Falcon Juran Bolden several times on Sunday. He has real good speed and is also pretty tall at around 6'1.

The Falcons have the youngest starting 22 in football, so you can say the future is bright. Atlanta has lost three times by three points, two of them on last-minute field goals. Were still only 1 game out of first place, so the sky is not falling down. The defense just has to play better against the run, the pass rush has to improve, and the coaching has to start making better decisions.

Four of the Falcons' next five games are on the road, starting on Thanksgiving at Detroit. We just need to win that game, than we'll have a long week to prepare for Carolina.

It sucks when you score 27 points and gain 443 yards of offense against Tampa Bay's defense, and still lose. But at the end of the day, were still only a game out of first place after a terrible loss on Sunday.

We owe the Lions, as Atlanta lost to them last season 10-17

Alright, The Falcons were down 10 - 0 after a dumb pass play by Mora and company. I'm in the chat room, where everybody is scared that we'll lose. People are cursing, fighting with each other, it's getting ugly. So what does your hero do in this situation?

The Falcons first real divisional game (Sorry Saints) is on Sunday. Some players are saying it's a must win game. I agree, you can't lose 2 back to back games at home. So for some terrible insight, I holla'd at Brendan Pevarski "Aka Ski" from The Best Bucs Blog

It started off as an interview, but ended as a Girl fight between two dudes that hate each others team. I try to keep the cursing to a certain point here, so i published what i could. Enjoy (Hopefully)

Erik: Are you one of those Chris Simms is God guys, or would you rather see that bum Tim Rattay play? To be fair, Simms is a bum too

Ski: You're right. Simms is nothing to write home about. He is destined for mediocrity. In college he was replaced by a guy with the first name of Major, and at Tampa he was beaten out by journeyman Brian Griese. As I alluded to before, if Simms played any where else he would be destined for a career in the NFL as a journeyman quarterback. But Gruden has this magical effect on the guy behind center. Just look at Rich Gannon, who went from journeyman to MVP under Gruden.

Same deal applies to Rattay, but Simms gets the nod 'cause he's got more tremendous upside potential (TUP) and he is more familiar with a complicated offense.

Erik: Everybody knows you hate Michael Vick. Tell me why?

Sky: Because he has herpes

Erik: So, you hate a guy because he MIGHT have an STD? How about you get a gun and kill 1/4 of America than.

Ski: A quarter of America? I find that hard to believe (as I make an appointment to get tested).

Erik: You have to get laid to get an STD, you do know that, right buddy?

Ski: ... or use a public restroom. Fortunately I do neither, so i definitely dodged a bullet there.

Erik: Would you care if he played for the Bucs?

Ski: I would take Vick or Schaub over Griese or Simms. Hell, I would trade for Schaub, who's better than a good number of starting quarterbacks. The Falcons have some very good guys behind center, they just don't use them well.

Erik: Alright, what do you think will be the key to a Bucs victory on Sunday?

Ski: Looking at the game on Sunday, I think the key will be the ability of the Bucs o-line to establish the run. 'Cause the Falcon's run D is horrendous (Samko Gado? that's not even a real name). But as bad as your team's defense has been against run, the Bucs have been unable to get the run game going since Week 4.

Erik: Speaking of the running game, are you now angry that the Bucs let Warrick Dunn go?

Ski: Nope. The Bucs didn't resign Dunn because they didn't have the cap room to sign him to the deal the Falcons were offering. Warrick is a really good player (and a great individual) but this year he is the 8th highest paid runningback in the league. That's more than Willis McGahee, Clinton Portis and Priest Holmes. I would take any one of those guys over Dunn.

Erik: Alright. Tampa Bay's defense has made Michael Vick their bitch the past couple of years. Tell me how the defense has played so far

Ski: The defense has been about average this season. Losing Dwight Smith in the offseason hurt the secondary more than most people have been willing to admit. Smith may have gotten into trouble off the field, but he made plays on it. Still Barber, Kelly and company should have little trouble shutting down your receivers.

Middle backer Shelton Quarles started out the season hot, but he let up some big plays last week. Quarles has the bad habit of overpursuing on running plays which opens up cut back lanes for quick backs. And last time I checked Vick and Dunn were pretty quick.

Erik: You know the Falcons have a linebacker that is reminding me of one of your own. Check these stats out bro

Demorrio Williams: 79 Tackles, 3 Sacks, 1 FF, 2 INT's,

Derrick Brooks: 56 Tackles, 1 Sack, 0 FF, 1 INT,

Erik: Yeah. D. Mo is the next Derrick Brooks. Get to know him

Ski: I'll be honest with ya, before you mentioned him I had never even heard of this D Mo guy. But he's got a long way to go before he can come close to what Brooks has accomplished on and off the field. ("Who's my favorite player? Mr. Derrick Brooks")

And I put very little faith in tackles as a measurement of how good a player is. Piss poor players rack up more tackles than Pro Bowlers all the time. All you have to do is keep giving up first downs and you can accumulate more tackles.

Ski: Damn. I hate giving scores 'cause you have a one in a million chance of being correct. But what the hell.

I'll be the first to say it --Derrick Brooks has lost a step! Those 56 tackles ain't gonna cut it. Demorrio Williams is the future

Roddy White returned to practice after missing Wednesday’s drills because of some bruising to his hip in a one-car accident on Tuesday. Also, Michael Jenkins look's like he's ready to return from a high ankle sprain he suffered in the Falcons' 27-14 victory over the New York Jets in October.

My question is who should start on Sunday? Look at the splits

Through seven games, Michael Jenkins has caught 15 passes for 249 yards (16.6 avg) and 1 touchdown

Roddy White has appeared in 9 games, and has caught 10 passes for 116 yards (11.6 avg) and 1 touchdown

Michael Jenkins numbers are better, but look at Michael Vick's numbers the past two weeks

437 passing yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 Ints. With a 68 completion percentage.

I don't believe players should lose their job to injury, but i would start Roddy this week. Jenkins has been out for nearly a month, they should use this game to get the rust off of him. Jenkins 16 yard average is really impressive, i would start him on Thursday.

Something interesting: There is talk out of Atlanta that Falcons owner Arthur Blank was none too happy this week at the team's facility. Word is he wanted answers about how his team could lose to the 1-7 Green Bay Packers at home. The 33-25 loss dropped them to 6-3 heading into a key game Sunday against the Bucs.

One problem lately has been the run defense. The Falcons are ranked 20th against the run, giving up an average of 4.5 yards. A year ago, when they went to the NFC Championship Game, they allowed 3.9 while finishing ninth in the league. They are playing a lot of younger players on their defensive front, which could have something to do with that.

Losing linebacker Ed Hartwell for the season didn't help, either. That forced Keith Brooking into the middle, with Michael Boley and Demorrio Williams outside. Boley and Williams are fast linebackers, but the knock is they aren't great at the point of attack. Our Defense Stinks

I like to come with more creative titles than that, but i think that one's right on the money.

Last year the Falcons had an up n coming defense that was a sure tackling group. But this year, they have regressed. Last weekend, we missed several tackles in a 33-25 loss to Green Bay. Personally, if i don't have to here the name Samkon Gado (103 yards on 25 carries) again in my life, i'll die a happy man. The sight of Gado dragging Falcon player's an extra 3 or 4 yards was shocking, considering he's a guy making his first career start, just a couple of weeks after being promoted from the practice squad.

Alot of people blame the run defense on the Bryon Scott and maybe even the linebackers, but the defensive line was at fault on Sunday.

C. Davis, 1 Tackle
P. Kerney, 1 Tackle
D. Shropshire, 1 Tackle

Rod Coleman had zero tackles on Sunday. Hell, Alge Crumpler had as many tackles as Patrick Kerney. Bryon Scott had more tackles than Keith Brooking. Clearly, It's never good when somebody in the secondary has more tackles than your Middle Linebacker. To be fair, the Falcons have injuries to linebacker Ed Hartwell and defensive end Brady Smith, and because of that young players are seeing major playing time. The Falcons have the youngest starting 22 in all of football, the young players haven't been the problem though. Linebacker Demorrio Williams, a second-year player, led the Falcons with 13 tackles and rookie linebacker Michael Boley was second with nine.

Last year, Patrick Kerney had 66 tackles and 13 sacks, while this year, he has only 23 tackles and 4 sacks. We rank 20th in the league against the run, giving up nearly 117 yards per game. Only five teams have allowed more yards per carry than Atlanta's average. The Buccaneers rank in the bottom half of the league in rushing, so maybe they will play better on Sunday, but if they do, their going to need to get more out of their veteran defensive lineman.

Tough Day At The Office

I couldn't have said that any better. That was the worst game i've seen us play since Jim Mora came in two years ago.

The Falcons entered Sunday's 33-25 loss to Green Bay feeling good about themselves, maybe feeling a little to good. Atlanta had scored first in six of eight games, but before they could even get a sweat worked up, the Packers took a 14-0 lead in the first 7 minutes. We have done a great job of not fumbling all season, but two plays after a Packer touchdown, Warrick Dunn caught a screen pass and fumbled the ball in Green Bay territory.

That was a sign of things to come for Atlanta, as they fumbled 6 times on Sunday.

Atlanta tied the game up after Vick outran a Packers linebacker to the right pylon on a bootleg after a great fake handoff. I felt real good going into the half only down by 3, but the second half was an absolute joke. I've been real hard on Allen Rossum all season long for his ST play, and again, we struggled in the return game. I'm starting to wonder if it's more Rossum's fault or the dudes blocking for him. Special Teams last year was a huge plus for us, but this year it has been a double negative.

This years defense has also been a big dissapointment. I swear, the Philadelphia Eagles could run the fucking ball down our throats.

Samkon Gado (who?), an undrafted rookie making his first start rushed for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns. I'm so sick of watching running backs scoring untouched on us. Last week it was Ricky Williams, this week it's Samkon Gado(Who?) TWICE. Our safetys continue to do a terrible job of helping on run defense, we need a Safety that can just hit somebody. Packer wide receivers were running in the middle of the field all game long. Keion or Bryan has to come up and knock the crap out of somebody sooner or later. But, it's not all on the secondary, the entire defense has been playing soft of late.

Packers quarterback Brett Favre dismantled the Falcons secondary (what else is new?) when he needed to. Favre completed passes to eight receivers to finish 26-for-39 for 252 yards and a touchdown. Atlanta had no pass rush all game long, and Favre continued to march his team down the field for long field goals. Hell, the Packers only punted the ball once in the second half. It'll be interesting to see if any changes are made on defense. Samkon Gado -- unbelievable.

All season long the Falcons Offense has been handed poor field position, but the offense usually does a good job of sustaining long jobs and driving down the field. Not Today. The Falcons had 2 fumbles inside the Packers 30 yard line, as Roddy White's turnover in the 4th quarter sent the fans in the GA dome to the exit's.

"We didn't take care of the football, that was the bottom line," Vick said.

"Whether we came out flat, too pumped up, too excited, whatever, it doesn't matter. You got to put points up on the board, and you can't turn the ball over."

Vick completed 20 of 30 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns for a passer rating of 108.9, but he didn't get the big play that were used to. The Packers did a good job of beating Vick up. They were in his face all game with a bunch of different blitzes, accounting for three sacks and numerous knockdowns. I've said all week long that we should throw at Ahmad Carroll, and after Ahmad Carroll interfered with Roddy White for a 43-yard penalty, i thought we would pick on him all day, but we didn't.

I don't know if it's because our O-Line was getting manhandled or he just couldn't get open, but where was Alge Crumpler yesterday? I thought Alge was going to have a big game yesterday, but he was invisable all game. I also was hoping to see Tj Duckett get the ball more, because he was impressive while he was in there. It might be time to start cutting down Warrick Dunn's work load. It was just to many Turnovers on Offense.

Atlanta has the youngest starting 22 in the league and sometimes it shows. They didn't look ready to play and that is on the Coaching staff. We are not a big play offense, we are a time of possession offense, and it's hard to win the time of posession when we only induce one punt in the final 40 minutes. If the Falcons don't get homefield advantage in the post season they will have this game to blame.

This is just a terrible, terrible, loss

No Movie review today, i'm too pissed. Just know, "Get Rich or Die tryin" was one of the worst movies i've seen all year. There's nothing good i can about that film

Falcons - Packers Game Preview

The Green Bay Packers (1-7) come to the Georgia Dome with no season, no hope, and no chance of Vicktory.

While the Atlanta Falcons(6-2) are a legitimate contender in the NFC, coming off a big road win, and a shut-the-fuck-up game from their Star Quarterback Michael Vick. Just when you think Atlanta can’t beat you with their passing game, he has a game like last Sunday, Vick completed 22 of 31 passes for 228 yards and a touchdown against Miami. So it's fair to say everything is looking mighty good in Falcon Land right now.

Now for Green Bay, it's a different story. Brett Favre has 14 interceptions and is on pace to set a career high in interceptions, the packs have just 10 takeaways all season. Rookie runningback Samkon Gado (Who?), will make his first NFL start Sunday against the Falcons. The Packers are down to their fifth running back and as a team they average 2.98 yards per carry, which is the worst in the NFL. If you want to know how bad the Packers are at running the ball, here's a comparision between the two teams

The Packers 575 yards rushing are 904 fewer than Atlanta's league-leading 1,479. Hell, Gado rushed 26 times for 62 yards, and that was their best rushing effort of the season!! How many yards to you think Warrick Dunn would get with 26 carries?

Last week, gave up a total of 119 yards between Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams, which is solid. But, they got those yards at 5 yards a run, that's not good. The Packers do not have explosive playmakers, so they will try to sustain long drives that eat up clock and shorten the game. In last week's 17-10 victory at Miami, the Falcons had two scoring 90-yard scoring drives that lasted 26 collective plays, consumed 13:25. So both teams are trying to do the same exact thing.

Atlanta's defense has been more successful when it's challenged offenses with blitz pressure and man-based cover schemes on the outside. They will have to blitz the hell out of Brett Favre on passing downs, because will not hold on to the football when faced with quick pressure, and he doesn't always make sound decisions under pressure. Patrick Kerney hasn't been the same since injuring his leg a couple of weeks ago, so look for the Falcons to attack Favre with a high percentage of blitzes.

The Packers have had to many injurys at the wide receiver spot to make teams pay for their blitzes. I think, our run defense is strong enough to put Favre in downs with pass-heavy tendencies, the result will be some stalled drives or costly interceptions. Brett Favre has been terrible in Domes for his career. So, i can't beleive i'm about to say this, let's make Brett Favre throw to beat us.

On Offense, I hope the Falcons do the same thing they did last week. The Packers defense goes into Sunday ranked 13th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game, and more importantly, ranked sixth in yards allowed per carry (3.6). So the Falcons might not be able to get the 180 rushing yards that they are use to, even if Tj Duckett returns from injury.

The Packers have been successful in their new defense, where the strong side linebacker is off the line of scrimmage several yards. In this scheme, players are responsible for covering 1½ gaps — one gap in one direction, and half a gap in the other. That means the defense is a little more read-and-react oriented, which is why he has all three linebackers lined up deep. This means, we might see more passing plays.

The Packers have lost to Brian Griese, Trent Dilfer and Charlie Batch, so what what chance do they have against Michael Vick? None

Green Bay has a young Defensive line and aggressive linebackers. They will probably leave more running lanes for Vick than the Dolphins did last week, plus were on the turf this week. I fully expect Vick to have an 100 yard rushing game.

Roddy White is going to make his second start of the season, he's coming off a good start against the phins and will be lined up one on one against Ahmad Carroll. Alge Crumpler should have another good game against a secondary that is not very stong at the safety spot.

I expect the Falcons to use bootlegs for Vick, to get him out the pocket. The Packer pass rush isn't great either. This is a bad team that Vick should tear apart.

Don't sleep on the Packers, they are better than their record. Green Bay is the first team to start the season 1-7 and outscore its opponents.

But, Brett Favre in a dome + Michael Vick in a dome = Falcons Victory 27-17

It's time for another interview!!! There is a game on Sunday. If you've been to busy thinking about Terrell Owens, the game is still on.

Bob Lalasz is a Green Bay Packers fan that has been forced to watch his team limp to a 1-7 record. So, as many of you probably understand-- Bobby has the enthusiasm of a crack head. He's not a happy, loving human being right now. In this interview we talk Football, weapons, baseball and Brett Favre. You can call me his therapist.

Erik: I read the other day about the cell phone incident. How has the media been to Mike Shermen?

Bob: It's a death watch, really. Some writers defend him cuz--after all--he has won the division four years in a row. But his mistakes as GM have really caught up with him, and they can't ignore that.

The cell phone thing--the funniest thing, of course, is that he's a spokesman for a cell phone company in GB. The local media are keeping their head down on that one, though, because they know phones in public places piss off a lot of the public. One guy did call for a special prosecutor to look into the situation.

Basically, Sherman's sort of publically imploding under the pressure of this awful season. I expect more of this behavior from him as the year grinds on.

Erik: Is there any chance Mike Sherman returns next season?

Bob: The media is split. He's a nice guy, but he was way over his head as GM. Everybody sees that now. He's probably not a bad coach, but we could do better, and he's a bit of a control freak, as your boys Donatell and Jagodzinski found out when they were on his staff.

I give him 25 percent chance of coming back. The only thing he's got going for him are all the injuries GBP has had, and that the North is the worst division in NFL history. That might buy him another year. I'd personally like Jeff Fisher to slide on up, or Mariucci, who has a history with Favre.

Erik: Whats your thoughts on Brett Favre, would you rather see Aaron Rogers play?

Bob: Favre is having probably his worst season since '94. Something happened to Grandpa Brett, and I don't think it was all the tragedies. He hasn't had really good coaching since the Big Show left. He actually worked out this offseason for the first time since Jesus left Chicago, instead of just riding the mower around.

But his decisions are horrible, especially late in games. Throws a pick every nine passes in the 4thQ when they're within 8 points. He's a free spirit who needs a strong father figure to ride him, and he hasn't had that for 6 or 7 years. They gotta ride him, though. Rodgers has looked even worse-- he' s just clueless. They should have drafted Orton, or Matt Schaub when they had the chance.

Bob: Any chance you'd give him up for a 3?

Erik: Hell No! Maybe a 1

Bob: Whaddya goin do with him?

Bob: He's got no future there, right?

Erik: No, but we can do better than a 3

Erik: Tell me about the rest of the the offense

Bob: Decimated. At RB, Ahman Green, Najeh "Poo-poo" Davenport, and Tony Fisher are all injured, with the first two out for the year. The new starter, Samkon Gado, is 5' 10" and out of Liberty University, which is Jerry Falwell's college. Gado came in last week after ReShard Lee fumbled and averaged 2.8 yards a carry. Guys were putting him down with forearm shivers. He's got a lot to learn.

WR: Same story. Javon Walker and Robert Ferguson out. Donald Driver's the only pro left, and you guys will double him to death. Favre will force it in there anyway. look for DeAngelo Hall to have a big day.

TEs are inconsistent. Line is in shambles--two new guards, one a 7th round rookie (Will Whitticker) and the other (Scott Wells) has never played the position in regular season. Center Mike Flanagan has to keep leaving games because of a hernia. Guys are pushing the pocket back into Favre's face and causing havoc. Take away the blowout over the Saints, and we're averaging about 14 points a game. It's a mess.

Bob: By the way, the last QB you guys traded to us had a pretty nice career. A high 2 for Schaub--final offer. This year, it'll be just like a one.

Erik: We do not mention that trade in this neck of the woods. It excites violent crimes, and injurys to those who mention it.

Erik: Let's move on--Do you hope Favre gives it up after the season? I know i do

Bob: In a way I do, because his presence keeps the team from really assessing its needs and fixing them. For years they let the defense slide and took fliers on juco projects because they thought--if we have Favre, we're always in it. This year put the lie to that. They need to start drafting for need and filling these holes instead of kidding themselves. I'm also sick of the retirement talk--just do it or not, and shut up about it. On the other hand, he is the king, and it'll be a long time before we get anybody better. So I'm torn.

Erik: Stop being a bitch. Give me a Yes or No

Bob: No, but I won't cry a salty tear if he does.

Erik: Cool. Drum roll please.... How has the Defense played?

Bob: Pretty Good. 9th in the league. Al Harris is lights-out lockdown. Good young D-Line. Jim Bates, former Dolphin coach, is the DC and coaching his tail off.

Weaknesses: Ahmad Carroll, the second coming of Terrell Buckley. He'll be flagged for hands to the face or interference at least three times Sunday. The linebackers are mediocre at best.

Erik: So basically Throw at everybody not named Al Harris?

Bob: Throw at Carroll and get first down by penalty every time. It's that simple. They made him wear boxing gloves in practice last year because he was grabbing so much. So far, not much improvement.

Erik: That means a big game for Roddy White, huh?

Bob: And Jenkins, right? He's your deep threat?

Erik: Yea, he could probably go about 5 yards on that sprained ankle. Is that considered deep?

Bob: Never mind. Crumpler will kill us. We haven't covered a TE properly since we had this badass LB named Wayne Simmons. Crumpler, and if you run Dunn on a circle pattern, that's money.

Erik: If you were armed with a high powered rifle. Which Packer would you use it on?

Bob: I would hope, like JFK's magic bullet, that it could pass through about 18 people.

Ahmad Carroll, no question. Cocky, stupid, totally useless. Except they'd have to play Mike Hawkins, who started about five games in college before dropping out. Another brilliant GBP pick.

Erik: You drafted a college drop out. Interesting

Erik: I could be wrong but, your not really in love with your team, are you?

Bob: You're a perceptive man. Drill it down and start over is my philosophy. When you're 1-7, what's to love? We don't even have proper cheerleaders--just coed squads from the local colleges.

Erik: You should call the Carolina Panthers about that Cheerleader problem. They might have a couple of gangsta chicks to send you. Those Carolina women are freaks

Erik: There's always baseball, i guess. Go Brewers!!!!

Bob : At least they finished .500!

Erik: Anway. Whats your thoughts on Michael Vick and the Falcons Offense? Can your defense do anything against them?

Erik: Are you a Vick Fan or Hater?

Bob: I like Vick. I read your post on the interview with Dan Reeves, and it sounds like the scheme is setting him up to fail. Man, that snow game at Lambeau a couple of years ago--that was the beginning of the end for Favre & Co. Very impressive, although his personal life leaves a little to be desired.

Our D will put up a fight, and the Falcons will have to put together some longish drives, but I don't see GBP containing Vick and a basically younger and faster team on turf. GBP is a piss poor turf team. They don't handle running QBs well, and Vick will run for a lot.

Erik: What do you think the Packs D will try to do to stop our Offense?

Bob: I'd like to say make you run, but I dunno how they'll do that. We don't blitz a lot, but I could see that happening this week, because Crumpler will be open and Dunn will do well on screens and there will be the frequent defensive holding call.

Look for Al Harris on CB blitzes. Look for balls-out press coverage against the WR. Look for MLB Nick Barnett to try to spy on Vick, and fail. It's a pretty vanilla defense that plays gaps and man to man and wants the LBs to run and make plays, except that the LBs aren't good enuff to do that consistently.

Erik: Alright, last question

Erik: It's the year 2002, Playoff game in Lambeau. Atlanta Falcons vs Green Bay Packers. Tell me about that Sad, Sad day, in the eyes of a Packers Fan.

Bob: We were thinking SB, no question. We were thinking what kinds of cheeses to put out for the halftime show.

2002: Dagger through the heart. Perfect playoff streak ruined; history desecrated. 12-4 season all for naught. Mike Sherman exposed as a fraud who couldn't motivate his team when it counted. I don't think they've been .500 at home since. Totally devastating.

Bob: Yes, I cried, you sadist. I cried long and hard. As did my whole family. Wailed for weeks. Especially when you clowns laid an egg later...

Did anybody here the Eagles case against Terrell Owens?

Well, according to John "Pencil Neck" Clayton, one of the reasons for his Suspension was because he was parking in the Coaches parking Spot.

The Last Day of T.O. Talk (Hopefully)

If your sick of reading about Terrell Owens, i am too. But, i can't run away from this story, so i might as well put my 2 cents in.

T.O. is a great player, maybe even a Hall of Fame player. He would certainly be a major upgrade over the Falcons' current group of receivers. He also has a history of tearing into his Quarterback. Here's my Pros and Cons on signing Terrell Owens....

Pros: Well, there aren't many. But, His value will never be lower than it is now. He's at a Bargin Basement price right now. Terrell is 32 years old now, he only has about two more years left in him. We could sign him to a one or two year deal and if he acts up, we'll just deactivate him like the iggles did. We'll still have Roddy, Jenks, and maybe even Finneran to take his place. Plus, 8 games without Football might teach him a lesson.

Not to mention his numbers:

47 catches, 763 yards, six touchdowns this season

His price tag might be to good to pass up....

Cons: He freely took verbal shots at quarterbacks Jeff Garcia and McNabb. He's not a very good team player. His age, plus him not playing football for about a year might be an issue. He'll probably get tired of Vick's scrambling taking away from his catches. He'll be disruptive to one of the most civil, unified locker rooms in Football. The Falcons are the NFL's leading rushing team, meaning he'll be blocking more than catching.

I don't know if i want T.O. here or not.

I Believe in developing the young guys and letting them play, and T.O. would ruin that for Michael and Roddy. Our receivers had one of their best games of the season on Sunday. Finneran had a career-high eight catches for 92 yards (though he did drop a pass in the end zone) Rookie Roddy White had three catches in his first career start. All this talk might not mean shit, because the Falcons don't have alot of Cap room, and might not be able to upgrade at a skill position. Lets see how the season plays out first.

We might already have that Superbowl Championship without T.O.

With the Mid-Season here in Football, it's a good time to review my Pre Season picks. Some i was right on the money with, while others were terrible picks that prove i don't know what i'm doing. I will admit my mistakes today and end some Seasons.

Minnesota Vikings- Alright, i'm not the only person that had this one wrong, Peter King picked them to go the Superbowl and he gets paid for this. If only Mike Tice could face the Lions every week. The Vikings' coach is 7-0 against his divisional whipping boys, who have lost 11 of the teams' past 12 meetings. In their first outing since Daunte Culpepper suffered a season-ending knee injury, the Vikings turned in their most complete game of the season.

Now, Everybody will make fun of the Vikings Sex Boat situation and the joke that is Mike Tice, but this team was overrated from the start. Daunte Culpepper was terrible before his season ended. He had 12 Ints compared to 6 Touchdowns. When your Quarterback has twice as many turnovers as he has Touchdowns. It's his fault. Your starting to hear whispers that Culpepper might not be back next year. Maybe he's just not as good without Randy Moss, but his numbers were unacceptable.

Oakland Raiders- The Oakland Raiders made a big splash this Off- season by trading for former Vikings Star, Randy Moss. Moss has been injured alot this season, but when he's been in there, he's been good.

This might be the best - terrible team in Football.

They are in just about every game they've lost, Warren Sapp has had a better season than expected and Kerry Collins hasn't been turning the ball over like crazy. Oakland had that game won on Sunday until Dick Vermeil decided to show he has some onions and go for the win. The Raiders could be a winning team if they could just get a break. Maybe the Raiders should start thinking about replacing Head Coach Norm Turner

New York Jets- This one hurts me personally. Because I said this about the Jets before the season started.

The Jets have a great runnin game, an improved passin game and a defense that will carry them to the Super Bowl. - Erik Love

Boy, was i wrong. Curtis Martin is averaging 3.4 yards per rush, the improved passing game is led by 3rd string Quarterback Brooks Bollingger, and that great defense just gave up nearly 400 yards to the Chargers. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid

At 2-6, there is no way in hell this team will make the playoffs, even in the Afc East.

Philadelphia Eagles- Monday when the Eagles decided they'd finally had enough of Terrell Owens, they officially ended their football season, and i don't care whatever bullshit "Jaws" is trying to sell. After the season were all going to hear about "How T.O. ruined the Eagles season", but i don't believe that.

In my opinion Head coach Andy Reid ruined the Eagles season. He refuse's to run the football with the runningback they just paid over 25 million dollars to. He's left his Quarterback to get killed by the blitz. How can you expect a guy to succeed when he's throwing the ball over 40 times a game? Philly is not a better team without T.O., they should feel lucky to finish the season with 9 wins. The Eagles Season is over, and Andy Reid is as much to blame as Terrell Owens is.

Tampa Bay Bucs- The Bucs started the season with a 5-1 record. Cadillac Williams already had the rookie of the year award in his crib, Jon Gruden was Coach of the year, and the Bucs were the best team in the NFC.

That was then, and this is now

Cadillac Williams hasn't rushed for over 40 yards in over a month, Jon Gruden might get fired, and the Bucs won't make the Playoffs. When the options to save your Season is Chris Simms and Tim Rattay.... your in trouble.

Nothing warm's my heart for the Hollidays like angry Buc Fans. Where's Ski with his Vick insults now?

It couldn't have happened to a better bunch.

The Bucs, Eagles and the Raiders both have realistic chances of making the Playoffs, so if they do, i'm going to take all of the credit. But, we all know these teams are done.

I'm now looking at a Colts - Falcons Superbowl in Detroit. The Colts are the team to beat with their ass raping of the Pats last night, and since the Falcons were in the Championship game last year, i think you have to give them the upper hand.

Falcons - Dolphins

Coming off their bye, The Atlanta Falcons had drives of 91, 92, 79 and 71 yards. The Falcons converted 11 of 17 third-down situations, totaling a season-high 27 first downs and keeping the ball for more than 36 minutes. Hell, Keion Carpenter(!) actually caught an interception yesterday. With all those positive numbers, the Falcons (6-2) only scored 17 points in a victory over the Miami Dolphins.

If i don't sound very happy about our victory, it's because i'm not.

Why?

The Dolphins (3-5) went 0-for-9 in third-down situations.

Atlanta had the football 12. minutes longer than the Dolphins, whose offense had just four drives in the second half.

Our Defense held Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown to a combined 119 yards on 22 carries. Not great, but we've seen worse around here.

How did the phins QB Gus Frerotte, do on Sunday? Let's have Dave George, answer that question

"He's a quarterback, the best one the Miami Dolphins have at the moment. Nick Saban is trying to baby him along this season, going easy on the gearbox, coasting whenever possible through the tight curves and never, ever, charging out into the passing lane on little more than a prayer. Sunday's 17-10 loss to Atlanta is yet another example of what happens when Scott Linehan, the Dolphins' offensive coordinator, goes against that basic game plan"

"So the Dolphins get a little greedy from time to time with Gus, not asking him to be magnificent Michael Vick, of course, but asking him to make the kinds of throws that any 12-year NFL veteran should be able to make. Bad move. Killer move, actually, in this case, for it was Frerotte's interception at the Falcons' 5-yard line that terminated the Dolphins' last chance of claiming the upset victory that Atlanta tried to force upon them all day"

I would like us to get to the point where we destroy teams like the Jets and the Dolphins. Kinda like Carolina did to Tampa Bay today. A heart breaking fumble by Justin Griffith on the 3 yard line and a fumbled punt by Allen Rossum detroyed any chance of a blow out.

I don't know if Mike was trying to restore respect to the family name, after the performance that Marcus Vick gave the world last night, but Mike was downright nasty.

Michael Vick completed all seven of his first quarter pass attempts for 77 yards, he ended the game completing 22-of-31 passes for a season-high 228 yards and a touchdown. The Dolphins squeezed the pocket with five or more rushers on most downs, just as the Jets did last week against the Falcons, but this week it didn't work. Instead, the Dolphins were manhandled by Vick and forced to respect his arm.

"He stayed in the pocket and was pretty effective as a pocket passer," Holliday said. "A lot of times our defensive backs were in good position and he put the ball right in there."

"You have to do so many different things when you play Michael Vick; he is the quarterback in the league that gives you the most trouble," said Miami linebacker Zach Thomas. "I don't know why [the media] are so hard on Vick because they convert a lot of their third downs, mainly by scrambling."

"It's tough with Vick because he can scramble and pass the ball. They convert a lot of third downs," Thomas said. "He hurt us with his arm. He beat us with his arm."

"Stats are overrated," Thomas continued. "All we talked about all week was Michael Vick -- that tells you how good he is. I don't know why they're so hard on him. He's a heck of a quarterback."

The second quarter was all about Mike Vick and Roddy White. Atlanta sored and took the lead on a 12-play, 92-yard drive, in which Mike completing four-of-six passes for 55 yards. Roddy White, making his first career start, filled up the stat sheet on the scoring drive, catching a 15-yard pass on the first play, a 20-yarder on third-and-eight in the middle of the possession, the rook also ran a reverse for 16 yards later in the game.

After the worst game of his career, No. 7 came back to destroy a pretty good Dolphins defense all day long, he made several pinpoint throws on the run and scrambled for 38 yards on eight carries. Mike had a passer rating of 102.6 and threw several rockets to recievers in long third-down situations.

On a day when Mike did everything right, he might've did one thing wrong

"They say I can't throw the ball from the pocket and my passing efficiency isn't that good, so I had to show everybody," Vick said Sunday. "From here on out, I don't want to hear that question, if I can throw the ball from the pocket and I can make plays from the pocket. I feel like I answered them, so I don't ever want to hear it again. If we're not winning games, then you can criticize me "

Michael, Michael, Michael, if you don't worry about what people say-- why are you commenting on it? Mike is wrong to expect the questions to stop, this is the NFL. The media builds you up, so they can tear you down, it's what they do. Him going on a long rant isn't going to help his cause, it'll just fuel more fire for more criticism.

Mike, In dealing with the media tt's better to take the semi-lame humble approach, instead of the "I told you so" approach. But, maybe he earned the right to give his critics the finger on Sunday.

It was a good day for Vick and the whole Atlanta Falcons team.

The Best Birthday Gift i received today was a big Falcons Road Win.

Michael Vick had a big game, 22 of 31 for 228. He was probably better than those numbers show. This should've been a blow out but Justin Griffith fumbled on the 3 yard line and Allen Rossum, who i'm starting to hate, added his own fumble. The Falcons have to do a better job of killing teams, but a win is a win.

The Panthers beat down the yucs today. When Chris Simms has to throw 42 times, thing's aren't going good. The Bucs are going to get Chucky Fired.

Joey Harrington is Officially the worst Quarterback in Football. 27/14...... nuff said

Vinny T was finally put to rest today. The Brooks Ballicker era has finally begun, for better or worse. They lose again 31 - 26

The Raiders might be able to beat KC today.

The current Coach is bad mouthing the Legendary Falcons Offensive Lineman. The Former Coach is putting his 2 cents in about the Current Offense and Quarterback. While the Current Quarterback has to average nearly 260 yards passing per game to make it to 3000 yards for the Season. With all this going on it's a perfect time to talk to Big Ben, a big time Dolphins Blogger

Erik: Hey Ben, Where have you been?

Ben: I'm a college student, so I've got a pretty busy schedule, particularly during the week

Erik: Getting laid and thing's of that nature?

Ben: That usually takes place during the weekend

Erik: Ok.... make sure you pass me one of those numbers when your done

Erik: Moving On..... How has Ricky Williams Played?

Ben: He was good in last week's game, and he's a solid player. But, I think that the media and the fans both anticipated the Ricky situation to the point that they expected him to be the savior for the team.

Erik: Can he still be a savior?

Ben: I don't know that he can still win games single handedly, particularly if he has to split carries with Ronnie Brown.

Erik: Speaking of Ronnie Brown, do you ever see him as a 25-30 carry back?

Ben: Ronnie's been great, I can see him as that sort of runningback, if he puts on a little weight and gets a few seasons under his belt. I think he'll really be helped by playing with Ricky

Erik: I must be hard to run with the Quarterback situation. Gus Forrotte stinks

Ben: I wouldn't say he stinks, he's just inconsistant. Gus isn't a great quarterback, but he's clearly better than any of the others on the roster. At this point he's looking like an improvement over last year's bunch. He's still not what we need, but he's more capable of winning games than Feeley ever was.

Erik: Yea, what did the Phins even see in Feely?

Ben: Aj was brilliant in short flashes in Philly, he was a young talent and expendable to the Eagles. AJ never really was in the lead for the job

Erik: Brilliant is a bit much. What's the plan against the Falcons?

Ben: Run the Football.

Erik: Ok, Have you been impressed by Nick Saban?

Ben: I think that Nick has really done well with the transition. His team has lost some games that they maybe should have won, but I think that like any other rookie he will continue to improve. I don't know about his trying to incorporate the 3-4 and sometimes I think he needs to keep the ball on the ground more. But, overall he has been very good.

Erik: How has he been with the media.

Ben: He hasn't said anything that has drawn attention to him, so that's always the mark of someone that knows how to handle the media.

Erik: Lets move on to the Defense.... How has the Defense played so far, has Zach Thomas been as good as the number suggest?

Ben: Even if Zach didn't have the numbers, he's the leader of the defense and is essential to their success. When he was injured last year it was apparent that a giant hole was left. I don't know that he's as talented as Ray Lewis is, but he does his job as well as anyone. His energy and enthuiasum bring an element to the team that talent alone cannot.

Erik: How has Jason Taylor played so far?

Ben: His numbers in the last couple of seasons haven't been as great as they had been in his prime, and he's getting older. But, he's still a disruptive force and his versatility is a great asset to the defense and hopefully he'll be able to tutor Matt Roth a little bit

Erik: Who's the most impressive person on the D?

Ben: I've been really impressed by Channing Crowder. I think he's got the chance to be a Ray Lewis type player. Zach has been great, obviously really the whole linebacking corp and once Junior Seau gets going again it'll be even better.

Erik: Sounds good. What's the weakness on the Defense?

Ben: The Secondary. I thought that Travis Daniels was going to be a lot better than he's been, but that's a rookie for you. Reggie Howard has not been good, Sam Madison has made some real boneheaded plays. It certainly could be worse, but it needs to improve if we're going to beat teams like the Patriots and even the Falcons.

In Other News: Owens Blasts Mcnabb, Organization and Owens Apologetic After Causing Another Flap.

In an interview with ESPN.com on Thursday, Owens took shots at the team and McNabb. He made his 100th career TD reception in a victory over San Diego on Oct. 23, but the accomplishment was not acknowledged on the video screen. An announcement was made in the press box.

"That right there just shows you the type of class and integrity that they claim not to be," said Owens, who became the sixth receiver in NFL history to reach the milestone. "They claim to be first class and the best organization. It's an embarrassment. It just shows a lack of class they have. My publicist talked to the head PR guy, and they made an excuse they didn't recognize that was coming up. But that was a blatant lie. Had it been somebody else, they probably would have popped fireworks around the stadium."

Owens also said the Eagles (4-3) would be undefeated with Green Bay's Brett Favre at quarterback.

"A number of commentators will say he's a warrior, he's played with injuries," Owens said of Favre. "I feel like him being knowledgeable about the quarterback position, I feel like we'd probably be in a better situation."

Owens previously said on his weekly radio show that he'd prefer to play with Indianapolis' Peyton Manning over McNabb or any quarterback

I don't have a problem with what T.O. said, he really needs to get a clue though. The Eagles don't have to give him a video tribute or anything special. He's been on the team for about 30 seconds, only 20 of those TD's were for Philidelphia. If Terrell Owens want's a video tribute, tell him or his agent to call up the 49ers and give it to him. The Eagles don't owe him nothing.

I just want to know which Brett Favre he's talking about, Brett Favre 99 or Brett Favre 05'. Brett Favre 05' has not been anything special, with his 5 Int games and his foward passes beyond the line of scrimmage. Hell, he hasn't even been better then an injured Donovann McNabb. If Favre was the Iggles QB they would still be 4-3, because Andy Reid still wouldn't run the ball and the Defense still would be giving up 99 points in the last 3 games.

I wonder what T.O. thinks he gaining by tearing up McNabb. Does he think the Eagles are just going to pay him to shut him up? What do you gain by beating on one of the best Quarterbacks in Football? Does he think any team will pick him up when he's complaining about catches and he's averaging almost as many catches as any receiver in football. Why would Atlanta take him on. So he can rip the franchise QB with a career completion percentage of 53%? Ain't no way in hell the Falcons would bring him in so he can rip Vick after one of his 13 for 26 performances.

T.O. is gaining nothing

I can see T.O. going to a team such a Houston, a team that needs a receiver to mask their QB problem. Then when he's 33 playing on a losing team and the media stop's caring about what he says, he'll really miss Philidelphia.

Back to the Falcons: Former Atlanta Falcons Coach Dan Reeves, did an interview with the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Dan Reeves has moved from coach to fan and when evaluating the Falcons he sees much of what you see — an erratic passing game.

The Buffalo game [Sept. 25], I saw it and said, 'Boy this is the turning point. But I look at it in some ways, and he threw the ball better three years ago," said Reeves, fired as Falcons coach in Dec. 2003. "There may be some things outside the West Coast offense . . . some things I see him not doing that I know he was completely comfortable with."

"Play-action off the fake draw series. The 18-yard dig [down-and-in] route, outside wide receivers running deep sidelines or comebacks," Reeves said, suggesting plays Vick previously had success with. "Bunch routes; we used to put three receivers together and he was very comfortable with that, knew where to go. This is just speculation. I'm not an insider."

He's right.

The guy knows what he's talking about, this isn't Sour Grapes because he was fired by Atlanta. I'm sure Coach Reeves told Arthur Blank the same exact thing when he was on his plane. This system is just bot working for Vick and fair or not, if it's not working for Vick, it's not the Falcons. I personally beleive Vick lacks the touch to be a Offense West Coast Qaurterback. It's hard to catch a bullet from a guy that is only 10 yards away from you. Vick's height is also an issue, he's so close to the line that sometimes he can't see over lineman. He himself even said that's a problem sometimes. Everyone has always wondered why Vick seems to hit Crumpler so good 12-15 yds down the field, but WR's have so much trouble.....

In 2002 the Falcons top 3 WR's were:

Brian Finneran averaging 15.0 ypc

Alge Crumpler was at 12.6

Shawn Jefferson was at 14.6

Trevor Gaylor was at 15.4

This year only Jenkins and Crumpler are over 13 ypc (16.6 & 13.9 respectively)

Vick only has 2 passes of over 25 yards all season.

It's hard to think that Vick can get 14 yards out of Shawn Jefferson, but can't get that number out of Brian Finneran. Michael Vick isn't going nowhere, he has a 38 million dollar Cap hit if traded. Coach Mora isn't going anywhere, he doesn't deserved to get fired. But, i can see Greg Knapp getting pushed out the door. The Head Coach doesn't have the right to pick his Coaching Staff, so Rich Mckay can just fire him if he wants.

Vick is getting torn apart in the media and i can see him talking a little bit . It's hard to think that Vick has somehow gotten worse as a passer, as his numbers suggest. The West Coast Offense is for QB's that don't have strong arms, i e Chad Pennington, and Jeff Garcia. It looks like Roddy White is going to start on Sunday, so maybe this is the game they start throwing the ball around. But it's becoming obvious, that something has to change. And the coordinater is most likely to go

Usually, i don't care about what Coaches say to the media. Really, are they going to tell us something we don't already know? They give the media nothing, so i'm not really interested.

The Falcons have a semi- lame policy that calls for one designated member of the offensive line to be the group's spokesman. I honestly could care less about what the big n ugly's think on the O-Line think. But, sometimes this is an issue with the media, who has to talk to some dude named Austin King. So yesterday, i guess the media was insulted by the sight of a no named fat guy speaking to them, which i can understand. The issue was brought up with Coach Mora at his press conference, and Mora defended the policy.

Mora crossed the line in his defense yesterday, he not only brought up the franchise's inability to post consecutive winning seasons, he also pissed on former stars Jeff Van Note and Mike Kenn, to make his point.

"Were they good talkers? How were their teams? Pretty good?" Mora asked rhetorically. "My point exactly. Seriously, this place never had two winning seasons in a row. Who cares what they had to say? No offense to them. It's the facts. They're great guys, nominated for the Hall of Fame, but it's about winning."

Jeff Van Note recently was nominated for Hall of Fame induction and his No. 57 is one of four honored by the Falcons. Mike Kenn earned five Pro-Bowl berths and played in the postseason four times. Both were huge parts of a 1980 Falcons team that posted a 12-4 season.

It's not like the Falcons have a historic franchise with a shit load of great players, like some other teams. We have a few and we would apreciat if our freaking head coach didn't crap on them.

Who the hell does he think he is?

Sometimes i get the feeling that Jim Mora thinks he did something great last season. Like we all should get down on our knees and thank the lord for our NFC Cahmpionship game appearence that our great head coach carried us to.

The biggest reason the Falcons failed to send a single offensive lineman to the Pro Bowl last year was because they couldn't pass protect. When your QB gets sacked once every 8 pass attempt, you don't deserve to go to the Pro bowl.

Now, I agree with Jim Mora, would cares about what Offensive Lineman think? When was the last time you picked up a Newspaper and said "I wonder what Todd Weiner thought about last nights game"?

Never

But, that gives him no right to basically shit on our All Time Great Players. Until Mora wins a Superbowl or atleast gets us to the Superbowl, he should have some respect for our histort and not act like the king of Atlanta.

He could atleast get our 9th win before he starts pounding his chest.

The NFC is turning into an up n down division. One week your kickin the crap out of a team and the next minute your geeting the crap kicked out of you. Since it's a slow news day, i thought i should uncork my own Power Rankings.

1) Colts (7-0) - I have more respect for them after the Bye week. They have to finally beat the Patriots

2) Steelers (5-2) - They were lucky to beat the Ravens on Monday Night. I wasn't very impressed

3) Broncos (6-2) - Manhandled Philly, not once, but twice on Sunday. Jake "The Snake" is my early season MVP

4) Falcons (5-2) - Still the best team in an watered down NFC. For all the passing problems, Falcons are in the Top 10 in scoring. Miami and Green Bay next, i smell 7-2

5) Bengals (6-2) - Favre throws 5 Ints and you need a Fan to help you win? Not a good sign for the future

6) Chargers (4-4) - It's kind of High for a 4-4 team. But, lets be honest, they beat the Eagles last week and i don't give a shit what their record says

7) Giants (5-2) - Dever, Washington back to back, Impressive. Now idiots like Peter King can hop on their bandwagon

8) Cowboys (5-3) - Who the hell is Marion Barber? The A- Train was released tonight, soo we should get to know the kid

9) Panthers (5-2) - I hate the Panthers, but Steve Smith is a freakin monster

10) Seahawks (5-2) - They've had luck on their side all season long. Expect them to come back to the pack

11) New England (4-3) - Needed to come from behind to beat the Bills. Tedy Bruschi's return overshadowed a pretty poor effort by the Pats

12) Philadelphia (4-3) - Forget the NFC Championship game, just making the Playoff would be a great task for this team. 27 in the league in time of Possesion..... nuff said

13) Tampa Bay (5-2) - Same ol Yucs. I honestly hope Chucky gives Chris Simms a chance to succeed though

14) St. Louis (Don't know) - Mike Martz never gave Stephen Jackson the ball that much. That's probably why he won't return next season. Jackson is a stud

15) Chicago (Don't Care) - The only team in the North that can atleast do one thing right.... Play Defense. Thomas Jones has been incredible all year long

Movie Review: Your favorite blogger took his sexy girlfriend Mary, to see Saw 2 with him.

The movie is about an old man with terminal cancer, who takes it on himself to punish people who don't charish their lifes. The old man is called "Jigsaw" in the movie. That names not that scary but what the heck. Like in "Saw", Jigsaw kidnapped his victims and dumped them in a scary, nasty, horror house. Jigsaw uses Tape-recorded messages to start them on a fiendishly elaborate trail of clues that will help them escape — but if they fuck up or ignore a clue, it's time to DIE.

The eight people he kidnapped are being slow-poisoned by a nerve gas whose antidote is in a safe-- the combination, they are told by a tape recording, is something they're all carrying in the backs of their minds, but they must work together.

Jigsaw allows himself to be found in an abandoned steelworks by Detective Eric(nice name) Mathews, who's been mistreating both his son and his wife. His Son is one of the 8 people kidnapped and he wants to rescue him.

That's all i can tell you about the movie, without giving you everything. It takes some twists and turns that you've never would of expected. It's not as good as the first one but this one is a very interesting movie. I wish they would've told me more about the people that were kidnapped but that's just me. The blood is crazy, soo that itself is worth the 20 dollars they now charge at fucking movie theathers.

Since the Falcons had a Bye week, it gave me a chance to watch other teams play instead of just the Falcons. This might've been the best Bye week ever!

The Falcons go into first place without even playing. And don't let nobody tell you it's a first place tie, because it's not. The Falcons are the only team in the division with a divisional win (Saints not included) So they are in the driving seat for now. There was alot of impressive play today, and unimpressive play. Since it's Halloween, i thought i might as well tell you which teams in the NFC are Superbowl Contenders (Treat) and which ones are Superbowl Pretenders(Treat)

TREAT

Atlanta: If the Falcons haven't proved that they are the class of the NFC, they never will. They have the best record in maybe the NFL's best division (5-2) Next Sunday, they head on the road to play the Miami Dolphins in a game they should win, and then they play the Packers, with Mr. 5 Int's himself Bret Favre.

If everything goes right, were looking at 7-2 going into our showdown against Tampa Bay. People will look at the passing game as a reason to downgrade us but were still in the Top 10 in Scoring. We have what might be the greatest rushnig attack of all time and we have the ultimite Playmaker at QB. We made it to the Championship game last year, so why can't we make the Superbowl this year?

GIANTS: The New York Giants pitched a shutout in beating the Redskins today 38-0. Before i get into my other treat, ley me mention another trick team.

The Washington Redskins after their great start are probably going to be in last place again in the NFC East. Washington (4-3), managed just 34 yards in the first half and finished with only 125. The Redskins didn't cross midfield until the last minute of the third quarter, against a Giants defense that was ranked in the bottom 5 coming into the game.

It isn't getting any easier on the Skins. They are 4-3, with Philadelphia and at Tampa Bay on the schedule in the two weeks. I'll be rooting like crazy that they win both of those games, but most likely, they are headed for a 4-5 record. Washington, and especially Mark Brunell, have overachieved this season.

Now back to the Giants

Tiki Barber ran for 206 yards on 24 carries, including a 57-yard run on the game's first play. He also had a 59-yard run later in the first half that led to a touchdown run by baby Tj Duckett, rookie Brandon Jacobs.

I saw the first half of the game and the Giants Offensive line dominated the line of scrimage. Eli Manning finished 12-for-31 for 146 yards for the Giants with an interception.

Now wait a second. I might have a GED, but isn't 12 for 31 worse than Michael Vick' s 11 for 26 performance? They both were in a blowout victory. So, does that mean that Manning will take the beating that Vick took this week?

Eli did throw a Touchdown to Jeremy Shockey. Shockey did do most of the work though, as he ran over LaVar Arrington to get into the end zone. Jay Feely (Oh Lawd), had five field goals. I would like to be the first to say, i liked Jay. I thought the Falcons should've kept him as their kicker.

If the Giants Defense can play as well as they played yesterday, they might be our main compitition in the NFC.

Now for the Tricks....

Tampa Bay: The Living Legend Cody Pickett, came into the game to replace an injured Ken Dorsey at QB. Cody not only replaced Dorsey, he dominated the Bucs on Sunday, snapping San Francisco's five-game losing streak with a 15-10 ass kicking. winto led his first NFL scoring drive a few moments after tackling a punt returner, and over punchless Tampa Bay on Sunday.

The Buccaneers played without defensive end Simeon Rice, he was sent home for an undisclosed violation of club policy. I don't care if Simeon played or not, when you lose to a team with a QB that is making tackles on kickoffs, you stink. Chris Simms was 21-of-34 for 264 yards in his first start of the season, but he was outplayed by the living legend. Simms was his usual inconsistent self, he had two interceptions and a key fumble. The Son of a Bitch threw a pass that bounced off the head of umpire Darrell Jenkins and landed in a hands of a 49er.

Their defense kept San Francisco out of the end zone, but Simms was as terrible in his first start of the season. Knowing Chucky, that might be the last time Simms see's the field. The Yucs traded for Tim Rattay a couple weeks ago and would it surprise anybody if chucky went with Rattay next week? The Bucs play Carolina next week and i'll be rooting for one thing and one thing only.....(Wait for it).....(Wait for it).... Injuries.

Eagles: The Eagles got fucking destroyed yesterday by the Dever Broncos. Jake "The Snake" Plummer finsished with a season high 309 yards passing with 4 Touchdowns and 0 Int's. Hell, Jake had 3 touchdowns and a 28 point lead before halftime.

The Broncos almost allowed the Eagles to come back yesterday, Philly was within seven points of the tying score early in the fourth. The big play of the game came with philly trailing 28-7, Donovann McNabb opened the third quarter by hitting Owens on a short pass on the sideline. Owens shook the shit out of Champ Bailey, then ran free for a career hig 91-yard Td score.

I was getting worried for a while, but denver came back with a couple of big scores of their own. Tatum Bell, rushed for two touchdown's and finished with 107 yards. Mike Anderson added 126 more yards on the Ground.

Yes, Jeremiah Trotter was playing when they gave up over 200 yards rushing.

He even gave us our quote of the day....

"An old-fashioned butt-whupping," is what Trotter called it.

I can't take the Eagles serious anymore. They didn't deserve to win last week at home, and now they get the shit kicked out of them in denver. They refuse to run the ball at all, making them more one dimensional then Atlanta.

Sorry, i'm late. That Redskin, Giants game put me to sleep.

The Giants shut- out the Redskins by score 36-0. Santana Moss was held in check most of the night, so McNabb stunk. I blame the Redskins for me being late. I told you the G-Men will win the East. Listen to me children....

Denver is destroying the Eagles 28-0. Donovan McNabb is 0/12 with 1 Int. This should be 2 losses in a row for the Iggles. I told you were better then them.

Jake Delhomme, threw for 341 yards, 201 of thoe yards went to Steve Smith. Carolina beat the Vikes 38-13 and are now 5-2.

Tampa Bay defensive end Simeon Rice was sent home before the Buccaneers' game at San Francisco. And Tampa Bay is now down 3-0 to 49ers. Chris Simms might have a comeback.

Chicago beat Detroit 19-13, Dallas beat Arizona 34- 13 and the Packers lost again.

Why can't the Falcons pass as good as Denver? I never thought i would say this, but, Mike needs to start playing like Jake the Snake. He has been great this season.

I think the Panthers are actually better than the Bucs, but look at that Schedule, they still have San Franciso and Chicago left. Jake Delhomme has atleast one interception in his last 6 games. And last week he was terrible against the Lions. Now, The Yucs are going with Chris Simms at QB on Sunday. So they have their own Problems. I just think that Carolina will go 10-6, while Tampa Bay goes 11-5.

I think Atlanta will win their Second Division Title in a row, and Tampa will be one of the Wild Card teams.

I also think the Giants will Win the NFC East, while the Eagles win the other wild card.

Michael Vick.

What do you think about when you hear that name?

Some probably think of Vick as one of the best players in Football. While others probably think about him as the most overhyped player in Football. SI.Com polled players around the league, to find out who's the most overrated player in football.

Take a guess who was voted number 1?

ABC, FOX, ESPN, Nike, they all love Michael Vick. That's why were on Primetime more times this year than Paris Hilton. Yep, that's right, you can be eating a big ass Thanksgiving Turkey, while watching #7 kick the crap out of Detroit Lions.

Some might be happy to see Vick play that many times, others will feel like Vick is being over exposed.

And that's my point. Michael Vick is like a slider in baseball, Seafood, or a black girl with a fat ass.

You either like him or you don't.

The Falcons destroyed the Jets by the score of 27-14. But, by the way people are acting, you would think the Jets pulled of another "Midnight Miracle."

So, what is all the uproar about? Vick was 11 of 26 for 116 yards, 0 TD, 3 INT's and had a 16.3 passer rating.

People would look at those numbers and say "Hell, Joey Harrington got benched for numbers like that!" While others will say "He rushed for 2 Touchdowns and those Int's were thrown while the game was out of reach"

For every one of these....

It’s time to stop talking about what Michael Vick doesn’t do and start talking about Atlanta as a serious challenger to the Eagles as the best in the NFC. Vick didn’t have a great game, completing just 11 of 26 passes for an exceptionally modest 116 yards. Three of his passes were picked off. But he ran for two touchdowns and was, again, the difference in the game.What Vick doesn’t do is put up classic numbers, and you’d like the Falcons more if he were more efficient as a passer. But what he does do is win games. Like all great players, he has the ability to perform when it matters.

The Falcons ran for 205 yards, and Vick got just 18 of them. They’re averaging better than 188 yards per game, which is on pace to be an NFL record. When you run the ball like that, your quarterback doesn’t have to do a lot.

And if Vick doesn’t have classic form in the pocket. He throws the ball hard and hits receivers on the run. He didn’t complete a lot of passes against the Jets, whose defense is still pretty good, but he completed the ones he had to. Teams have to worry about Vick, which is part of the reason the other Falcon backs run so well. If you jam the line, you’re going to be waving goodbye to Vick as he streaks around an end. -MSNBC

Everytime somebody trys to give Vick credit for winning....

Since he’s come back from the right knee sprain two games ago, he hasn’t looked nearly as confident in the passing game and the numbers prove that out. Whether he puts together a string of efficient passing games is anybody’s guess.

But, as cliché as it is, he wins. Why?

His teammates respond to him because, as big of a star as he might be, he is a star via marketing. He doesn’t prop himself up. Vick makes sure he works just as hard as his teammates, doesn’t place blame elsewhere when the passing game struggles, and competes as if every play is his last. So his teammates cover for him when he struggles and ride along with him when he’s rolling. 5-2 heading into the bye week, the record is probably better than what a lot of folks expected when the schedule was released. I think that, in assessing Vick, we have to throw out the normal measuring sticks that we use with other quarterbacks. He will never be a great passer, will never be a 65-percent completion rate guy. Vick is flashy, and different, thus he is the best ever. Last night the Falcons didn't win because of him, or with him, they won despite him. And the thing is, he has a huge amount of games like that, but he also has games with 120 yards rushing, so no one cares. He might win some games, but he's never going to do well in the post season because then he has to face really good teams, and really good teams shut down his running, and then he has to pass, and his passing sucks. He has horrid accuracy, he makes aweful decisions, he throws a large number of interceptions, and he runs the ball for 500 yards a season. Basically an okay running back. A Vick Critic might point to Vick's numbers for the season(723 yds, 6 TD) as their evidence that he's not really that good. While a Vick fan will look at his record for the season(5-1) Only One QB in Football has a better record than that(Peyton Manning)

Both of these people are right

Michael Vick will never be able to live up to his name. It's Hall of Fame or Bust, It's a Superbowl for the first Mobile QB or he's another Randell Cunningham.

If Vick hasn't lived up to expectations, than your right, he hasn't. His best year was in 2002, which was about 3 years ago.

But, How could he ever live up to those expectations? He's only 25 years old

It might seem as if Michael Vick has made no progress from last season, but that's not true.

Through seven games last year, Vick had just touchdowns and the offense had allowed 20 sacks. Those numbers are eight and 12 entering Week the bye this season. With 15 touchdowns in 22 trips to the red zone, Atlanta has the NFL's fifth-best efficiency rating. Including 7 field goals, the Falcons have failed to score just once inside the 20-yard line. Only San Diego (129) and Seattle (127) have more in points than Atlanta's 111. The offense now ranks 6th in third-down conversion percentage (41.6). Through six games last year, the Falcons were dead last at 25 percent.

For all of Vicks problems, the Falcons are sixth in the league in scoring and in the top 8 in time of possesion and the Falcons have the 2nd best record in the NFC.

What other 25 year old Quarterback can say they have a career record of 30-15-1?

The name of the game is scoring points, winning at any means nessacary. It doesn't matter how you do it, just do it. The only people in the world that should really care about Vick's numbers are Vick, and the receivers. And it doesn't seem like the receivers care that much

Now, The critics would say, "You can't beat good teams in the Playoffs being this one sided"

Would you rather be a team like the Eagles, a that throw's nearly 50 times a game with a Quarterback that should be having surgery instead of playing football? Or Would you rather be a team that Run's the ball 50 times a game?

Maybe you'd rather be watching a team with no chance of winning anything this year.

Again, the Falcons beat a team that they should beat. The Defense took turn's punishing Vinny Testaverde, on Monday Night Football. Three early miscues led to 17 points for the Falcons. This was not the game for people that like good passing. I think the AP said it best

It was a game both quarterbacks would prefer to forget.

At least Michael Vick could savor a victory.

Vinny Testaverde was all beat up -- and his team wasn't doing much better.

Exactly, Let's start off with Vick. He was absolutly terrible. His numbers tonight were unacceptable for an NFL Quarterback(11 of 26, 116 yards). Those stats are all on the lap of Michael Vick.

Did the recievers drop a couple of balls? Yea, but that's Falcons football baby.

Brian Finneran always drops the first ball thrown his way, that's how he gets crunk. Michael Jenkins dropped a high pass that he could've had. The only receiver i was impressed with was Roddy White, who made two nice catches on two poor Vick passes. No excuses can be made on offense for tonight's game

“I don’t know if we can win too many more games throwing the ball for how many yards we threw it for,” said Falcons wide receiver Brian Finneran, referring to his team’s 105 passing yards. “I really don’t know what it is. Every game, something happens. We’ve got open guys. Sometimes there is pressure. Missed throws. Dropped balls. We’ve got to rectify it shortly.”

It wasn't all Vick's fault. He still get's hit too many times, and the only person that gets open consistently is Alge Crumpler. But, Vick is the QB and it's his responsibility to improve in this area

"I'm the quarterback. It's all on me. Everything falls on my shoulders," Vick said. "All I can do is come back the next game, try to get better and make sure it doesn't happen again."

"It's just a matter of me getting the ball to [the wide receivers] when I'm supposed to." Vick said. "Those guys are running great routes. I'm the quarterback and it's all on me."

Mike, you picked a bad time to look like shit. Your going to hear about this performence for a while. We won, so no harm no foul

The Jets picked up Vinny Testaverde out of a freaking Lazy Boy in his Crib. After tonight, i think Vinny wish's he stayed on his couch. He had 3 turnovers and a pick before he left with an injury. To be fair, it wasn't all Testaverde's fault. I don't know if he's sleeping with Pete Kendall's wife or something, but, there is no excuse with the way he played tonight. And he know's it

The Jets gave up Seventeen points in the night's first 17 1/2 minutes. I remember a very attractive Falcons Blogger saying this in his game preview....

I turned to ESPN after the game and heard Sean Steak call this one of the best Defense's in Football. What the fuck?

This is the same Defense that gave up 31 points and nearly 500 yards to the Saints last week. I didn't have to curse about Bryon Scott and Jason Webster once. Okay, maybe Webster a couple of times, but B. Scott was solid. Their run defense ranked 28th in the NFL entering the game while allowing 133.5 yards per game and a league-worst 5 yards per carry all of a sudden, turned into the 2000 Ravens defense. Curtis Martin rushed for only a 37 yards on 18 carries, and we got turnovers from people i've never heard of in my life.

Who the hell is Chauncey Davis? When did he become a Falcon? He was the Falcons' fourth-round draft choice from Florida State? Really? Wow, good game Rook.

Now if somebody can just tell me who the fuck is Leigh Torrence, and why was he our nickelback in the second half?

The Falcons' defensive line was dominant and the safety's didn't kill us, which is all you can ask for from our secondary. Also, DeAngelo Hall had his 4th Interception of the season.

Really, it was a great game for the whole Defense. Now everybody can go into the Bye week feeling good about the direction we are going in

Monday Night Game Preview

On their second of three Monday Night games. The 4-2 Atlanta Falcons will play the 2-4 New York Jets at the Georgia Dome. For the Jets, they hit the road for the second consecutive week, this time in front of a crunk Atlanta crowd and a national audience.

Defensively, the Falcons dropped an unacceptable 13 spots to 25th in in total yards last week. Atlanta is allowing five yards per carry, tied for second-worst in the NFL. Which means the Jets will try to run the 51 year old Curtis Martin every chance they get.

The Falcons have been hit for long runs in every game this season. That's not Curtis Martin's game, he's averaging only 3 yards per game. Martin is still dangerous with the ball at his age, but he'll be running behind a bad offensive line that only got worse when they lost Pro Bowl center Kevin Mawae to a season-ending triceps injury. With Mawae, the Jets were averaging only 80 yards per game rushing and gave up 5 sacks to the Bills last week. So now Pete Kendell has to move from Gaurd to Center and go up against Rod Coleman.

Let's pray for him.

Vinny Testaverde, was the first overall pick in the 1920 NFL Draft. He entered the NFL when Michael Vick was only 7. But, since i'm clowning on his age, don't sleep on Vinny T, not on Monday Night. On Oct. 23, 2000, Vinny wrote the story that is now known as "The Midnight Miracle." Trailing the Dolphins 30-7 at the start of the fourth quarter, Testaverde rallied the Jets to a 40-37 overtime victory that didn't end until 1:15 a.m. That game is considered the greatest comeback victory in Monday night history. Vinny threw five touchdown passes that night.

But, as Rick Patino once said "The 2000 version of Vinny T ain't walking threw that door"

Instead, the Falcons will be looking at a graying, balding, 41 year old version of Vinny Testaverde. The Jets receiving corp is down to three healthy bodies, with Justin McCareins (calf) unlikely to play. Meaning Wayne Chrebet, who Keyshawn Johnson once said was a "Flash Light compared to his to Star" is going into the starting lineup. Our underperforming secondary is going to have to give Rod Coleman and company some time to hit Vinny in the mouth. Vinny is still a gunslinger, he will put a couple of balls up in the air for us, he's done it his whole career. The Safety's are going to have to be ready to make plays, because the Falcons are going to come out of the locker room ready to blitz Vinny. And if we can hit him hard a couple of times, he might be ready to take a Grandpa nap in the Fourth Quarter. There will be no more "Midnight Miracles" for Vinny T. Hell, Midnight is probably Vinny's bed time nowadays

On Offense, it'll be same ol, same ol for the Falcons. The DVD has a scratch on it, with T.J. Duckett expected to miss tonights game. But, you can expect the Falcons to keep playing it. The Falcons are averaging just under 25 pass attempts per game, while leading the NFL in rushing with more than 185 yards per game on an average of 34 carries. Leading Caption Obvious, Brian Finneran to say this

"That's the nature of the offense," Brian Finneran said "We have such good running backs and offensive linemen, I'm sure we'll go with that until we struggle. But I'd like to see us up around 30 passes a game so people will stop asking the receivers about it."

This won't be the game buddy.

The Jets run defense is almost as brutal as the ours, even though middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma leads the NFL in tackles. With T.J. Duckett out, Justin Gritth will backup Warrick Dunn when he needs breaks. I'm excited by Justin getting extra carries, he deserves it. The Falcons are going to run the ball to death, this might be the game Dunn gets the 20-25 carries he's always bitching about. On Offense, you can expect more Michael Vick passes too.

On the Monday night stage, Vick will be playing in front of a fired-up Georgia Dome crowd that feeds off of him. He'll be looking to improve on his first ever Monday night game, a 14-10 victory over the iggles.

This is a big game for Vick, he's the sexy name on the field. And he Jets defense will be looking to make a name for themselves by containing Vick. Vick will be looking to shut up his many critics by dominating the J-E-T-S, he has no choice but to have a big game. Jim Mora's rant to the New York media has put even more pressure on Mike's back. It was a simple question that didn't get a simple answer

The question, asking about Vick's "development as a quarterback, per se," inferred that he was less true quarterback and more a runner.

"What do you mean, as a quarterback per se?" Mora asked back "In the mold of Peyton Manning, or in the mold of Michael Vick?" Mora said. "Because in the mold of Michael Vick, he's outstanding. He wins two-thirds of his games.

"I think it's unfortunate people always put him in a mold. Let him be him. He's a quarterback. He's a great quarterback. I see him do things that other quarterbacks don't do. When are we going to start talking about when Peyton Manning is going to start doing what Mike Vick does? Let's flip it. Mike Vick wins games and that's the role of the quarterback, to win games."

"He doesn't need to do anything," Mora went on. "I think it's ridiculous that people keep asking me that question. I don't know why people are so narrow-minded that they can't understand why the guy is a great player. Let him do what he does best. Why does everyone have to be the same? It doesn't make sense to me. Never has, never will. There are a lot of different ways to have success, and he's finding his own way. He's ingenious. The guy is a genius."

Not to be undone, the quote machine himself, had this goodie about Vick

"Ever go in the alley and in the alley it's you and a black cat?" Herman Edwards said. "Try to catch the cat? Pretty hard, pretty hard. Looks good at first, and then he starts running around and before you know it, you trip over yourself."

What the hell is he talking about? who chases cats in alley's? I guess that's a compliment.

Anywhoo, Dez White's ass is finally on the bench. The Jets have two young safetys in Erik Coleman and Kerry Rhodes. Coleman is a second year player and Rhodes is a rookie. Last week against the Bills, they both gave up big plays in the passing game. Both are aggressive players that are prone to making mistakes on play-action passes and double moves. Alge Crumpler should smell blood against these two kids, he will be unstoppable tonight. The Falcons need to take some deep shots down field and the new receivers have to make plays when their number is called. Michael Jenkins will most likely be the main deep threat with Roddy White to be used on some deep throws too. He seems to be getting into a nice little groove and could provide some big plays as the new third receiver. Ty Law is questionable for tonight's game, if he doesn't start, look for Vick to attack David Barrett.

It's pretty wierd not having any Falcons football on Sunday. Tamara should be a real good game, ihave a huge test at school soooo i'ma need some Football when i get back to my crib. The game i'm watching is Chargers-Iggles. I'm rooting like crazy for the Chargers to win but the Iggles Defense has been great so far. LT has 6 yards rushing.

I saw that new DOOM movie Friday Night, It was mids at best. The story was understandable, odd, but understandable. I liked it more than the critics did, but there was not enough action for this kind of Movie. If you've ever seen the movie Alien, this movie is almost exactly like it. The problem was when the creatures come out, it's only for a second and the lighting is so bad you can barely see them when they come out.

But, when they do kill the humans, it's pretty bloody and shit. If you go to the movie expecting it to be the first person view like the game, don't go at all. There is only one time when that happens and that's for about 30 seconds at the end. It has some surprises and good action but it's Mids as a whole. Cry Wolf was a 5 star movie to me. Sooo DOOM is probably a 3 star movie. It won't hurt to see it, and it looks ALOT better on the big screen than it probably would on DVD. So go check it out....

J-E-T-S Blog Interview

The Jets come in playing terrible football and the Falcons are coming off of a good road win. To get a feel of how bad the Jets really are i've interviewed a dear, dear friend of mine, Brian Bassett. Ok, i really don't know Brian, but i'm running out of introductions. My half of the interview should be up on his site, sso expect some Jet Fans to join the party. Should be....

Erik: Let me know your feeling on Herm Edwards, he is one of those gospel type of coaches. Do you like Herm as your Head Coach?

Brian: It really depends from day to day. Sometimes I respect Herm so much, but there are other days where he drives me crazy. Herm is not a Bill Belicheck or a Mike Shannahan type of a guy who will scheme out everything, understands the subtleties of all the aspects of the game.what Herm is, is an amazing motivator. A guy who garners the respect of the guys who play for him, and more often than not, come to understand and love to play for him. The PROBLEM with that type of coach, is once he loses his respectability. What does he have? In terms of character, there aren't many coaches in the NFL like him. Dungy is another example of that.

Erik: Is the sight site of watching Ol Wrinkled nuts, Vinny Testaverde take the field for the Jets a scary site? He's older than my dad (literally)

Brian: In the two games that Vinny has seen action, he has played well enough to not lose (versus the Bucs) and poor enough to not win (versus the Bills). Having read some reporters thoughts on some of Vinny's recollections of certain plays (there is one play where he was picked off against the Bills... killed the Jets chances) what he saw, and what the tape showed were vastly different. The consensus is growing that the game has passed Vinny by, no matter his arm strength. People are clinging on to hopes that Jay Fiedler could be game ready in 3-4 weeks and they are hoping for that. We are talking about Jay Fiedler!!! Beyond that, I think that the Jets pulled the plug on Bollinger too soon after the Ravens game, but I can't fault them for thinking that Vinny might offer better chances. The truth is that he can work in flashes, but as a whole, I don't expect him to perform admirably. Bollinger didn't give the team the "confidence" it needed, but I think it would have been better to develop him.

Erik: Speaking of older players, How has Curtis Martin looked? I always read that he is shot. I know he had a good game last week, but should the Falcons worry about him alot at this point?

Brian: Curtis has had a tough season so far. It seems to me that there are many factors at work. I think the combination of the issues at Quarterback (even while Penny was playing), Martin's age, the change to the line (Adrian Jones rather than McKenzie), and the lack of a solid blocking tight end like Anthony Becht have caused Martin to struggle. No one expected him to win the rushing title or anything, but I doubt that people expected the decline to be this sudden. Unfortunately, the Jets aren't as ruthless as the Pats and have allowed him to keep his job, seemingly uncontested. I have no problem with him being on the team, but to see guys like Jerome Bettis, Marhsall Faulk and Priest Holmes allow others to take over, the same needs to happen with Curtis. I love him, but the end should be near...

Erik: What do you worry about most with the Atlanta Offense?

Brian: I think your DVD is going to shred the Jets. When you have a running attack that can beat you with power, speed or more speed, you are in for a long, long day, so in that way, I think the plan has to be similar for the Jets, just that there is this whole ridiculously quick Quarterback thing. The Jets need to contain the running game, including when passing breaks down and turns into a run. I am guessing that Vilma will be responsible for coralling Vick most of the day, and I think Vilma is up to the task, but will still get beat at least a few times.

Erik: Vick one on one with a linebacker, i'll take that any day of the year. Speaking about QB's, is Pennington in the Jets plans next year?

Brian: That IS the question. Penningon has been pretty limited in what he has said to the public, but it sounds like this time around he will need most of the time to recover from the operation, but should be up for all the Off-Season stuff. I get the feeling that the Front Office is distancing themselves from the situation. Who knows what the offseason could bring, but I wouldn't be suprised if they did bring someone else in. The biggest problem is the cap hit... something like $9M/6M over the next two years or $12M straight up for next year.

Erik: So he's your trash, i guess.

Brian: No, I like and respect him. I just don't think the kid can make it through a season without getting hurt. You don't go to the SuperBowl with that type of a QB, and that is what I want.

Erik: I remember in 2002 when he was Joe Montana. And i almost had to kick my friends ass for saying he was better than Vick....Oh how the time flys

Erik: If you were armed with a baseball bat, which Jet would you beat the shit out of?

Brian: That question would have been a LOT easier last year, the choices were plentiful: Anthony Becht, Reggie Tongue and Doug Brien... a "target rich environment." This year though.. I think I would have to beat the crap out of the new corner Justin Miller. I know the kid is going to get better in time, but he has dropped way too many punts/kicks, he is overdue for a beat-down

Erik: Oh yea, i've heard about that guy. He's been kickin more ball's around than Paris Hilton. *Rim Shot*

Erik: Anywhoo, how has former Patriots Cornerback Ty Law played so far?

Brian: Ty Law has played well, but unfortunately, he hurt his back last week, so he is questionable against the Falcons. He has played well, and has had 3 picks already. He is still a top Corner, but we will see how much he actually plays the rest of the way, now that his ridiculous bonuses (SuperBowl, on the field for 95% of all defensive snaps) aren't going to come through.

Erik: Let me get a game prediction Brian.

Brian: Atlanta wins 34-23. The Falcons should and will run all over the Jets.

Erik: Yea, Get ready for the Mike Vick show on Monday Night.

Dez White was Demoted to the fifth receiver on Thursday. Two dropped passes in Sunday's 34-31 win over the New Orleans Saints extended White's trend of blown opportunities and pushed the coaching staff to finally make a change.

Brian Finneran will replace White in the starting lineup; rookie Roddy White becomes the third receiver and veteran free agent acquisition Jerome Pathon is now the fourth wide out. Michael Jenkins retains his starting flanker spot.

"We're always evaluating how we can get better," coach Jim Mora said. "We feel, as a staff, that we need to shake it up a little bit at that position. We're looking for guys that are going to make plays. I know Dez will work hard to get back to where he should be."

With Duckett Ailing, Justin Griffith is Ready To Go. Griffith took 38 handoffs as a rookie in 2003, but that number dwindled to nine in 12 games last season. Mora took over as coach, installed the West Coast offense and focused the running game around Dunn, Vick and Duckett.No one argued with that philosophy. Certainly not Griffith, who realizes that he's blocking for some pretty good runners. Now, for one week at least, he might get his chance to shine.

I'm excited," Griffith said. "But let's get one thing straight: I am a fullback. That's what I do." "I don't consider myself a running back or a fullback," Griffith said. "I can line up anywhere. I'm just an ol' football player."

On Monday Night the J-E-T-S come to the GA Dome to play the Atlanta Falcons. Assuming we win, we will go into the bye week with a 6-2 record. The division leader is the Tampa Bay Yucks, and we are in a second place tie with the Carolina Panthers. Now looking at the Falcons, our run defense stinks, our pass defense is terrible and our pass offense doesn't exactly strike fear into defenses. But, the Falcons probably have the best chance to win the division. It's time i start predicting shit around here, so i'll tell you what will take us to our first back to back winning season in Falcons history.

The Falcons are not as good as last years team, atleast not yet. Last year the run D was fine and the Pass rush was great. This year the Pass rush is great again but run D is terrible. The thing about the run D is that it's hard to know who in the front 7 to point out. Is it the D lines fault or the Linebackers? In the secondary it's all of them that are screwing up. Jason Webster is to slow to be a corner anymore. He's more of a nickel back now. The Safetys have been terrible, i think Bryon Scott will get better as the season goes on. People forget he led all NFC safetys in tackles last year. I think he'll pick his game up soon. Carpenter just doesn't seem like he wants to tackle people. That would be fine if he could cover guys or was makin plays in the secondary, but he's not. So on run play's he is a big time liabilty. I can see Carpenter getting replaced soon but, who do you replace him with? The rest of the secondary's play has also hurt DeAngelo Hall this season. It seems like he's always out there by himself and now QB's are starting to pick on him. It's hard to ask a player his age to make the plays for an entire secondary. I mean, Does a member in the secondary have an INT besides him? If so, i don't remember it.
No Improvement

Alot of he Run Defense is the Defensive lines fault. They just let to many Offensive linemen get to the linebackers, It's that simple. Our linebackers are small and fast. They can't make plays if Big 330 hundred Pound mother fuckers are out there blocking them. Everybody on our line try's to rush the passer, that's all they care about. Which is a gift and a curse. This Offseason, i think the Falcons need to get a big ugly run stuffing Nose Tackle to put next to Rod Coleman. Somebody that's going to plug the holes. I think the Linebackers will improve after the bye week because everybody will get used to their new roles. The Falcons need some bigger lineman though. Improvement

The Offense is good but it has alot of room for improvement. The Running game is always good when Vick is at QB. He freezes the linebackers for a second and that's long enough for Dunn and Duckett to get positive yards. Plus when your back is averaging over 5 yards per carry and your QB over 7, your doing a good job.

The receivers have been better blah. Brian Finneran is our leading receiver. God Bless finn, but if he's your lead receiver, your in trouble. I blame the coaching staff on the passing game's problems more than anything. They refuse to bench Dez White when it's obvious that he is not getting it done. You can't have your leading receiver on the sidelines as much as the Falcons do. The Falcons play alot of two wide two back sets. Finneran is in when they play one receiver and 3 receiver sets. When you look at it, the receiver on the field the most is Michael Jenkins. I can live with that but, you need to have Finneran play the two wide sets and have Roddy play the one wide sets. It would be the best thing for everybody to just let Dez White loose. Maybe he can catch on with another team. It's time we put Roddy White on the field and Dez is taking playing time from him.

I also don't like how little they use Warrick Dunn in the passing game. Warrick had over 50 catches under Dan Reeves and is yet to have more than 30 with us. Dunn has been our best player, so isn't it smart to find ways to get him the ball? When you have a tight end like Alge Crumpler, he'll get all the attention in the middle of the field and Dunn can be one on one with a linebacker. The Yucs do this with Michael Pittman, The Chargers with LT and the Eagles with Westbrook. You have to get Dunn the ball over 25 times a game and the only waay that will happen is to pass it to him more. Vick is getting more chamces to throw of late and his 55% completion percentage isn't going to cut it. All he has to do is complete one to two more pass per game which means, STOP LETTING DEZ WHITE DROP 1 TO 2 PASSES PER GAME.
Improvement

The Falcons Defense has to many injuries to play ass good as last years Defense, so the Offense has to pick up the slack. Vick has to pick his play up and so does the receivers and the coaches.

The Falcons went into San Antonio and beat the New Orlean Saints on a game ending field goal by the bitch legged Todd Peterson. It looked like we were going to overtime after Peterson booted the first one, but a holding penalty on Saints defensive end Tony Bryant moved the Falcons up 5 yards and gave Peterson another chance to win it.

Everybody's ranting and raving about how the Saints got screwed by the Zebras, but that's not the case.

Referee Bill Carollo made the correct call.

"It's considered a pull-and-shoot," Carollo said. "By definition of defensive holding on a field goal kick, two things have to happen. First, he has to have defensive holding and the second player has to shoot into the hole. That's what we called."

This was a strange and at times, just down right ugly game. I was in the Falcons Chat Room during the game telling everybody that the Saints didn't want to win this game, and that's exactly what happened. I have to agree with Demorrio Williams on this quote....

"We don't feel lucky," Demorrio Williams said "That's football. We capitalized on their mistakes."

Exactly. This isn't ballet, you don't get points on how good you look. This is Football, a win is a win.

I'll be the the first to admit the Falcons were terrible today. Mike Vick was bad for most of the game. He threw for 112 yards, completed 11 of 23 passes, and threw a touchdown and interception. He looked real rusty.

The Defense wasn't very impressive either. They got three turnovers today and still gave up 31 points and near 500 yards of total offense against the Aints. Not to many Falcons had good games yesterday. Michael Boley made a good debut in his first start with 7 tackles and 1 forced fumble. Bryan Scott led all defenders with 10 tackles and 3 passes defensed. B.Scott had a pretty good chance to pick them all off, but he didn't get any of them. I guess it's that old sayin "If he could catch, he would be a wide receiver." DeAngelo Hall was alright, with 6 tackles and a fumble returned the for a touchdown. Jason Webster was better than last week with 9 tackles, Webster did give up a touchdown on a pass from Aaron Brooks to Donte' Stallworth. But, you can't really blame him for that one, he was in place to make a play, it was just a perfect pass. Keith Brooking (9 tackles, 1 interception), and Rod Coleman (6 tackles, 1 sack) were solid too. And Alge Crumpler was Alge Crumpler.

Other then that, nobody was very good yesterday. It was just a bad, bad, game. But, you have to be happy to get out of San Antonio with a key win over an NFC South division rival. I think Coach Mora said it best after the game.

"You put in your pocket and you get on the plane as fast as you can and you get home," said coach Jim Mora. "And that's what we're going to do."

That's exactly what we have to do too. Just forget about what happened yesterday and move on to a big Monday Night Football game against a struggling Jets Team. The Bottom Line with yesterdays game is the defense came up with big plays when we need them to. Todd Peterson nailed the field Goal when givin another shot, and Mike Vick engineered what he called "the biggest drive we've had all year."

When the game was there to have, we took it. When we needed Mike Vick to put some points on the board for us, he did. Mike Vick was 7 of 19 passes for 71 yards, a score and an interception when that last drive started. Then with less than a minute remaining and nearly 70 yards away from the endzone, Vick goes 4 for 4 to get the Falcons in field goal range. To go from terrible to great when your team need's you the most is the definition of cluth.

"It was the moment of truth." Michael Vick said "We either had to step up or fight it out in overtime, and that's one thing we really weren't considering, going into overtime."

"The guy's calm and collected," wide receiver Brian Finneran said of Vick. "He just called plays and executed. The guy's just a winner. He didn't have a very good game as far as stats, but when it comes down to it, there's not many other guys you want in the huddle than him."

4-2 is alot better than 3-3

Saints- Falcons Game Preview....

After giving up 52 points last week, the Saints have to face NFC South Division rival Atlanta and the Falcons starting quarterback Michael Vick on Sunday at the Alamodome. Both the Saints and Falcons are having their problems.

The Saints are 2-3 and have that record largely because of their own mistakes. They have one big problem that will kill you in this league - Turnovers. And those turnovers have come in bunch's - 15 in the three losses, including two interceptions returned for touchdowns last week. The Saints turned it over five times last week against Green Bay and QB Aaron Brooks, has thrown seven interceptions with only two touchdowns this season.

Yea, it's that bad.

The Falcons had two big injurys last week, we lost Nickelback Chris Cash and MLB Ed Hartwell. Alot of people will look at hartwell's injury as the big loss, but i don't see it that way. It looks like Keith Brooking will go back to his middle linebacker spot to replace Hartwell. Cash's replacement will be (gulp) Allen Rossum. When the kick returner went on to the field last week you could tell Tom Brady's eyes got big. He attacked Rossum late in the New England loss and Rossum was beat so bad that he had to basically Sexually Assault David Givens, and got flagged for a pass interference penalty that pretty much ended the game for us.

Keith Brooking was a Probowl middle linebacker a couple of years ago, so he might be better in the middle then Hartwell was. It probably won't be as easy of a transition as i am making it, but star runningback Deuce McAllister, the teams leading rusher with 335 yards is done for the season. With McAllister out, the Saints will turn to Antowain Smith and Aaron Stecker to carry the load. Smith, is a relic at 35, in his ninth season and with his third team in three years. Aaron Stecker is coming back from an ankle sprain, and they have a total of 72 yards between them this season. Brooking should be fine and lets be honest, can the run D get any worse then it already has been?

But on the flip side, with McAllister out the Saints may end up throwing the football the majority of the time. Saints star wideout Joe Horn, is expected to return and join Donte' Stallworth, who leads the Saints with 21 catches for 323 yards. Safeties Keion Carpenter and Bryan Scott might be to busy helping out that bum son of a bitch Jason Webster in coverage with Joe Horn. The other cornerback DeAngelo Hall, will probably have Stallworth all to himself and even he has something to prove after getting beat last week by Deion Branch. So all of this probably means a looong day for Rossum. The bright side is that Aaron Brooks is a turnover waiting to happen, so it can go either way.

On Offense, the Falcons will look to get their run game going again after having a blah day against the Pats last week. The whole "DVD" will be ready to play this week as Mike Vick will return from injury to play the team that he owns.

Last week with Matt Schaub at quarterback the Falcons passed the ball alot more than they normally do. I think the Falcons should do the same with Michael Vick. Schaub passed the ball 34 times last week and some of that has to do with the fact that we were behind. But, our receivers have shown they can get open deep, if they don't drop their usual 3 per game, we should have success and be able to force defenders to be cautious.

Vick has to be more accurate, whether he can run or not. This season's receivers have had more balls thrown their way and are led by Brian Finneran with 19 catches. The offensive line has been strong in pass protection the last couple of games and will be tested up front because the Saints have alot talent up front with four defensive ends that sometimes are on the at the same time. They will be coming after Mike with of his sprained right knee.

I see it this way, the team that doesn't turn the ball over on Offense will win. If the Falcons can shut the run down early, and make Brooks throw about 35-40 times, he'll turn it over about 2-3 times against any secondary, even ours.

The Saints defense isn't as bad as it seems, but Mike Vick and Warrick Dunn usually plays good against them. San Antonio is Dallas Cowboys country so their will be no home field advantage. A matter of fact, the game is sold out on Sunday. This means there will be alot of Mike Vick Nut Huggers at the Alamodome. So you can expect to see alot of Vick, Dunn, and Crumpler in a Falcons win.

My Prediction: 31-20 Falcons win

OK, I know, I Know, It's late. Don't blame me. Blame Matt. It's his fault, not mine. Here it is, no introduction needed. Read!!

Erik: How has the Media in New Orleans handled the Aints, Are they getting ripped or a pass?

Matt: It seems as though most of the media is coming out of San Antonio circuits. It is really hard to say if they should get ripped or a pass. They definatly should get ripped for the loss last week against Green Bay.

Erik: What the hell is wrong with Aaron Brooks?

Matt: No leadership. Inconsistant. With Aaron Brooks, you get a Super Bowl calibur player until he throws a backwards pass, which happens way too often. He deals with mistakes in a manner that is not to create a perception that he cares. This season could be the end of the "Aaron Brooks Project" unless he improves quick. It seems like there is a three week cycle with Brooks. He plays great then the following week, he does ok, then he bombs the third week. After the bomb he rebounds and plays great only to regress until the next two weeks.

Erik: Do you personally like Brooks?

Matt: I think Aaron has a lot of talent but it means nothing if you cannot produce consistantly week in and week out. I like him as a backup.

Erik: Do you see him returning next year?

Matt: If he returns next year he needs to turn things around starting this week against the Falcons

Erik: What do you think the Aints have to do on Offense to win?

Matt: Well, the production is going to have to come from the receiving corps of Joe Horn, Donte Stallworth and Az Hakim, until RB Antowain Smith or RB Aaron Stecker can show that they are worthy replacements for Deuce.

Erik: Who will be the starting Running Back on Sunday?

Matt: Jim Haslett says that Stecker and Smith will share carries. However, Smith will be the primary back.

Erik: Speaking of Jim Hasslett, is he gone after this year?

Matt: No. Katrina gave him a free pass no matter what the final record is.

Erik: Whats the Saints strength's and weakness on Defense?

Matt: Strength will be the Saints secondary and the weakness is stopping the run which is bad against Dunn and Duckett. (I would say Vick however I am not sure if he is 100%)

Erik: Whos the best defensive player that the Falcons should look out for?

Matt: CB Mike McKenzie. I think the Saints will make more of an effort to stop the run causing the Falcons to pass the ball more. McKenzie has to make up for last week and is ready to show why the Saints traded for him last year.

Erik: Yea. What happened in that beat down last week.

Matt: Beat down? That was worse than a beat down. The players looked spent. They also caught the Packers during a bad week. It was Favre's birthday, they just came off a close win against the Panthers and they were ready for a win. The Saints were not prepared.

Erik: Wow, it was Favres Birthday? How old is he now, 57?

Matt: I don't know, Maybe....

Erik: How do you think the Saints Defense will handle our Offense?

Matt: With all of the current injuries it is hard to say. If the Saints can contain the run then I think they ahve a good chance of beating the Flacons making them go through the air. It is also important for the Saints offense to keep the Falcon's offense off the field as much as possible. Time of posession will be a major factor with both of these offenses.

Erik: what do you personally think about our Offense, Kid?

Matt: I think Atlanta has a huge advantage over any team with the trio of runners between Dunn, Duckett and Vick. It eats up clock and sets up the play action.

Erik: Speaking of Mike, what are your feelings on him?

Matt: Well, of course Vick is an amazing playmaker and before I saw his backup play this past week, I felt that Atlanta was one injury from a losing season. I think he needs to work more on his passing and possibly his image after the whole "Ron Mexico" debacle.

Erik: If you were armed with a lead Pipe, which Saint would you use it on?

Matt: Ha ha...well, I would have to say Jonothan Sullivan. Even though he has played alright this year, he really has wasted the Saints time over the past couple of seasons and thier draft picks. He will never live up to the hype.

Erik: Ok, What's going to happen on Sunday?

Matt: The Saints will win in San Antonio. I think the Saints have more to prove than the Falcons, not just to their fans, but to the entire NFL. Last weeks drubbing was a huge embarrasment and they will come out ready to get some respect. If the Saints win it puts them 2-0 in the division and back in the thick of things.

Everybody can go to sleep in peace now. Michael Vick practiced on Sunday and says he expects to play on Sunday, where ever it is that the Saints play this week....

"I think I'll be playing," Vick said. "I feel good, a lot better than I did last week. I was able to go out and get some work in today. I felt good. That's a big confidence boost for me."

Sounds good to me. Vick probably wouldn't need to start this week for us to beat the Aints. But, it's be good to get his confidence up and get some of that rust off of his shoulder, so we can cream the Jets on Monday Night. It's interesting what has happened to the Aints. There was a time when this team was our top Rival.

Quick Story...

I remember i was at a Falcons game in 2002(I think) at the Dome, and there was this little 10 year old kid with a Saints Jersey on, about 2 rows in front of me. So, the Saints were driving down the field pretty easily at that moment and the kid jumps up an says " Yea. Were going to win this game!" kinda loud. Now, the Saints are pretty much ass raping our D and i'm pissed, so i yelled " Sit down and shut the fuck up" real loud. I'm getting mean mugged by about everybody around me, so his mother turns around and screams "what the hell is wrong with you? Your an asshole". Well, to make a long story short. I told her exactly where she should put her big mouth, and was forced to leave the area.

Yea, it was wrong. But i was pretty crunk that night.

The point is, i don't get that crunk anymore with the Aints. They are just so terrible that i don't even consider it a rivalary anymore. I have much more fun insulting Eagles and Panther fans. I'm mean look at them, A. Brooks has become a joke, Deuce McAllister is out for the season, and his replacement Jesse Chatman, has a name that sounds like a pedophile on an AOL Screen Name. This team is a joke and i will treat it like one until it shows me different.

Anywhoo, This should be Vick's breakout game and i hope it is. If Vick has a big game then all of those Matt Schaub nut huggers can shut the fuck up. Personally, I like Schaub, but putting him in the same class as Michael Vick is like putting Jeff Francore in the same class as A-Rod, it's an insult. Schaub might reach that level, but he is nowhere near an elite level. I hope the kid has a great career, but all this talk is very premature for a guy with 2 career Starts and no Wins. If Vick has a big game this week and then back that up with a big game on Monday Night, then maybe the whole team will get the respect it deserves. But atleast things are starting to get back to normal....

I wouldn't know. I sneak all kinds of food into the Movie theathers and barely make eye contact with their Ushers. I'm going to see the New DOOM Movie next week and i'll probably sneak in a big ass Subway Sandwich. But, Shoobie doesn't do this, so he has a problem....

Bathrooms at movies are just disgusting in general, probably due to customers pissing out half a gallon halfway through the best part of the plot twist.

my pet peeve, the concession stand at a movie theater. Now i dont want to get off on a rant here, but the concession stands at the movies need a serious overhaul. the other day i went to see Two For the Money (mids-- 2.5 stars, netflixable). my crew is consistently right on time for any movie. i mean we have never ever missed a movie and we usually skip every commercial and most coming previews.

Anyway, so we get there and i feel like we're late so me and yan head to the seats. we went to n. dekalb mall, basically because we knew that it wouldnt be nearly as full due to the fact that black people and white people just dont see the same flicks. of course we were about 5 minutes early so i go out to grab a drink for cotton mouth. ok, so i am 2nd in line (miracle) and the guy to my right is doing the oldest movie theater sketch comedy ever: 'damn, popcorn costs 4-fitty? how much does that orange drink cost? daaaamn. take it off, take that off, put that on, and take that off. alright now how much do i owe you?'

i mean come on bro, that comedy routine is soo fucking stale. also, youre taking 20 minutes to get your order in... what fucking movie are you seeing and how do you have so much time to waste? it was in this time that i realized the concession stands are the worst fucking bottle neck in any business model and that the people behind the counter are absolutely the most braindead, sloth, retarded people on earth.

So Shoobie, how do we handle this growing problem?

HURRY THE FUCK UP ALL DAY LONG. i cant stress this enough. why do movie theater employees move slower than molasses in antarctica? this is definitely a question that can only be answered by Mr. Owl and God him/herself. If anyone has any other addendums, you know what to do. At this point i thought if we were 4 and 1, we would have a good chance to win 13 games, well that hasn't happened and were starting to see our flaws. I'll explain why i think we'll be 12-4 at the seasons end....

@ Saints: I don't think their is no way in hell that we lose on Sunday. Were going to be angry, Mike will probably play and the Saints are a terrible team.

vs Ny Jets: This is a game on the big stage. Yea, Vinny has looked alot better then Chad Pennington already. But, Curtis Martin is averaging less then 3 yards per rush and his backup Derek Blaylock, just broke his foot. If you can't run the ball, you won't beat us...

@ Miami: Miami's QB situation is a mess, but they are a pretty good team and they can run the ball. With the loss of Ed Hartwell, in my mind if you can run the ball you can beat us. This is a loss to me.....

vs Packers: Their Defense stinks, their Offensive line Stinks and their running game doesn't scare anybody. Look for our front four to have Favre runnig for his life....

vs Bucs: They just lost their first game of the season. They are not as good as their record says they are and we are at home. I think this is a close win....

@ Lions: Man, i am looking foward to this game. All eyes will be on our team, and i'll be eating some turkey, Potatoe Salid, Rice, Macaroni Cheese, Potatoe Skins. Can't wait. Oh yea, the Lions stink...

@ Panthers: Gave up almost 400 passing yards to the Cardinals and Julius Peppers is still sackless. Expect Michael Vick to ass rape them as he always does. Win

vs Saints: By this time, the Saints season is over. Aaron Brooks is on the bench, Jim Hasslet is as good as gone and the players don't give a fuck about the game. Easy Win at the dome.

@ Bears: This should be a cold weather game in Chicago. The Bears can run the ball and the Falcons still probably can't stop it. This is a tough game to pick, but i like the Falcons in a close game. Their the better team, it's that simple.

@ Bucs: There's Three things you don't do. You don't spit in the wind, You don't walk around the Police in New Orleans while your drunk(They will fuck you up), and you don't pick Michael Vick to beat the Bucs in Tampa Bay. LOSS

vs Panthers: This game can mean alot or this game could mean nothing. Julius Peppers is still sackless and the Panthers still can't beat Vick. Win

12-4 will be our record at the end of the Season. And you can quote me on that!!

The Big anouncement i said was coming is finally here. On Friday, i got my 5,000th hit!

No, not that kind of hit. This kind of hit....

For the people that don't know what a hit is, it means that my site has been visited over 5,000 times! Now, i myself probably count for atleast 200 of those, but don't try to fuck my joy up. 5,000 hits is not that much, but i've only been doing this since july, so 5000 is pretty damn good. And it means that my shameless hacking at the Atlanta Falcons Message Boards has finally paid off. Before i started this blog, i used to complain to my Girlfriend and my brother in atlanta. Well, my Girlfriend forced me to stop, and my brother got a girlfriend that forced him to stop.

Women.

Anywhoo, i decided to go look for a Falcons blog where people cared about my team as much as me. There was only one problem. There were no real Falcons blog! Just a bunch of old piss-poor boring Blogs. As a Mets fan, i knew how good blogs should look. So, i started my own and now i can't go a day without posting. Because If i do, my readers probably won't come back. Enough about me. I have people to Thank.

Sick Vick, and that one Atlanta Braves fan that E-mails me all of the time, to insult me for being a Mets fan. Vick is God, Ron Mexico, Ray, Harry Potter(whoever you are) andrew, the Mets and Giants fan that only comes here after Giant wins. Joey from Yonkers, who's still mad at me for stealing his girlfriend two years ago. Joey, don't hate the player, hate the game. And all of the anonymouses out there.

However, there is one Anonymous that is special to me. His name is Evan, Evan is a Jets fan that i actually know in my everyday life. The Michael Vick Experience

The Falcons gave a good effort yesterday, but lost a game they could've won. Matt Schaub gave a better then expected performance agaisnt the Patriots. The downfall was the defense, they were just plain terrible. This defense is a defesne that NEEDS it's front four to preform for it to win. When we don't rush the passer, our secondary gets exposed. I could rip our secondary, but i'll let Len Pasquarelli do that for me....

Brady exploited Atlanta's secondary all day, picking mercilessly on cornerbacks Jason Webster and DeAngelo Hall, and taking full advantage of safeties Keion Carpenter and Bryan Scott, arguably one of the NFL's worst interior secondary tandems. Webster was lost at times, and one has to wonder about the $7 million signing bonus given last spring to a guy who seems to always be infirm or out of position. The team's best coverage player, Hall continues to be turned around at times by clever, double-move wideouts like New England's Branch and David Givens.

Without our normal pass rush, Tom Brady just picked on our secondary. I've let Bryan Scott get away with his play long enough. I just don't understand the guy. His rookie year, he was great. And then last year was a blah year, and this year, he has been terrible in coverage, which just is unacceptable. The guy used to be a cornerback! I can understand being beatin by a reciever, because there's a reason he's not a Corner anymore. But, to get just man handled by some tight ends can't happen. He has to pick up his play, fast. Keion Carpenter has been pretty bad too, but when you consider he's replacing Cory Hall, it could be worse. The Falcons had one sack and Tom Brady had all day to pass. The Defense as a whole was terrible, nobody helped each other and on one Touchdown catch, D.Hall and J.Web(who stinks) gave up on a play.

Not Good

On Offense, Matt Schaub was solid. He threw the ball well but at times the offense stalled because of him. In the first and third Quarter he was terrible and in the second and Fourth quarter he was great. It just wasn't Falcons Football. The running attack was terrible for the most part and our time of possesion was not good either. At times, we kept te Defense on the field to long because of a boat load of three n outs. The Falcons were a passing team today and i think it is obviously not their strength.

Matt only completed 53% of his passes, so he wasn't as great as his numbers would say he was. But, he's a young guy and he has to get helped out, which is something our recievers never do. The Patriots were begging to get beat. The secondary was god awful, which is shown by the fact that Matt Schaub threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns, and their pass rush was pretty brutal. All in all, this is a throw away game. Non Divisional game, and we didn't lose any ground. When consider that our best player was out, it wasn't that bad. I think we would've won if Vick had played though....

Which leads me to Coach Jim Mora.

There were several reports that the Mike Vick was angry about not playing last night. Len Pasquarelli mentioned it in his Tom Brady sucking column.

At least the Pats didn't have to cope with Vick, whose sprained right knee kept him in street clothes, a decision made by coach Jim Mora that angered the quarterback. Vick, who had treatment late into Saturday night but who could not shake the soreness from his knee, claimed he didn't know he wasn't playing until he arrived at the Georgia Dome.

"It takes something away from them, I'm sure," said Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel. "But I'm not about to feel sorry for teams that have injuries, not with what we've had."

For as much progress as Michael Vick has made reading defenses, there are still some things he can’t see coming. Like being told, “Don’t suit up.”

Vick didn’t learn until he arrived at the Georgia Dome Sunday morning that he wouldn’t be allowed to play against New England because of a sprained knee

Now, it’s common for NFL coaches to treat the injury report as a weekly disinformation campaign. It’s another to keep the team’s own starting quarterback in the dark.

“Very frustrating,” is how Vick termed things when told by Falcons coach Jim Mora he wouldn’t start. “I thought I’d play.”

So he didn’t take it well?

“No, I didn’t,” he said as he walked off the field, wearing shorts and a sweatshirt. “But I guess it’s the decisions that you gotta make. Nothing I can do about it.”

Strange week. On Monday, Mora said the MRI on Vick’s right knee was negative and he’d likely play. On Wednesday, Vick officially was listed as probable, which means there is a 75 percent chance of playing. After practice, Mora said of Vick: “I thought he looked fine.”

But as the week went on, things became less certain. Mora now says he inaccurately projected Vick’s progress. He watched Vick recover from a hamstring strain two weeks ago at Buffalo and expected the same progression this week. On Saturday, he downgraded Vick to “questionable” — after a walk-through.

Who gets downgraded after a walk-through?

Interesting. I think that if your best player says he's ready to play, you play him. Vick knows his body, play him. It looks like Maybe Jim Mora' s Ego might've gotten in the way of his decision. Jim might be tired of hearing about "The Great Mike Vick" and that whole "One man Team" thing, that he decided to show the world that he can win without Vick against the World Champions. I hope this is not the case, but everybody has a Ego. If your Jim Mora, you don't want to bark up the Michael Vick tree. It just wouldn't be smart. There's two people in Atlanta that can do no-wrong...

OutKast and Michael Vick

Well, i guess that's three, since Outkast is a group of two. Anywhoo, Michael Vick is the Falcons money whore and has a 36 Million dollar cap hit if traded. Which means he is here to stay for a loooong time. It's like starting a fight with the biggest dude in school, it's just not smart. It's a battle that you can't win. Could you imagine booing at an Outkast Concert? They will kill you up in there. And Jim Mora would get ran out of town here.

Lets just make sure it doesn't happen again Jim. We should keep an eye on this....

This defense is a small fast defense that uses alot of energy to make plays. They don't just have one Big n ugly motherfucker that can get down and stop the run. They have to chase you to get you. And when Vick is not on the field to get the run game going and win the time of possesion battle, they're not going to be very effective. The run game doesn't get going without Vick and the next thing you know, were playing catch up. That's the difference between Mike and Matt playing. It helps the whole team. This is not a great offense, it is a ball control offense. And when we have to throw alot to come back, our flaws get shown on both ends of the football. Our D was on the field waay to long yesterday and we threw more then we would've liked.

Matt played better then anybody could've expected, but i think if Vick was in there, our running game and our Defense would've been better. Like it or not, It's Falcons Football..

The Lord of the Preseason has looked like the Lord of the Regular Season so far. I'm actually shocked with the amount of passing attempts for the Falcons 19 First half passing attempts already. Mike never throws that much. I guess Mora reads my blog. God damn, our punter just hit a 58 yarder! What has ever happened to the Patriots D? They stink. Were still down but Schaub is looked Great......

Green Bay is destroying the Aints, same ol Aints, Same ol Aaron Brooks....

The Yucs are down to the Jets even though the Jets have 59 yards of total Offense. Make fun of that Yucs! But who knows, they probably will still win by like 2....

The Bills are beating the Dolphins....

Balimore stinks and the Seahawks and Rams are battling.....

Pats - Falc's Game Preview....

The Superbowl Champion Patriots come into the GA Dome at a very unattractive 2-2 after getting manhandled by The San Diego Chargers. When they get to the Dome they still might not know which QB they are facing, The Lord of the Preseason or Michael Vick. Vick, went through limited drills during the final full-scale practice Friday and is said to be more nimble than he has all week. While Matt Schaub, took the majority of snaps with the first-team offense.

"It probably will be a game-day decision," coach Jim Mora said Friday."

Vick will probably play on Sunday, because, the NFL doesn't play that shit. If you list a Star player probable and he doesn't play, the NFL will most likely investigate the situation.

Meanwhile, the Patriots have their own injury problems, 14 players were listed on their injury report including Richard Seymour, who is listed as questionable and QB Tom Brady, who is also questionable for Sundays game. Brady is angry and he will play.

Alot of "experts" don't think the Patriots will lose 2 games in a row for the first time in like 2 years, but, i don't see it like that. Jim Mora has lost 1 career game at the GA Dome and the Falcons offense has been rolling the last couple of weeks. The Big problem with the Patriots has been their Defense, so here's what i think the Falcons should do on Offense....

Everybody knows the Falcons bread n butter on O is their three headed rushing attack known as "DVD". And after giving up as many rushing yards the correct thing probably is to run it down their throat until they prove they can stop it. I don't agree with that thinking. New England coach Bill Belichick will be expecting us to run, and you don't win 3 Superbowls without being able to make adjustments. The Patriots will put 8, maybe 9 men in the box, trying to make an injured Mike Vick beat them with the pass. The Falcon receivers play a big role in blocking downfield, but, this week we should throw to them(Not Dez White) the ball early in the game and catch the Patriots by surprise.

Vick was 6/8 last week and ready to erupt against a secondary that i think is better then the Patriots. Last week, second year player Guss Scott made his first career start and the Chargers went right after him. Scott allowed Michael Turner to burn him for an 18-yard gain and tight end Antonio Gates to jump over him during a 38-yard reception. Both plays were huge as they set up touchdowns for San Diego. Gates had six catches for 108 yards late week and Falcons tight end Alge Crumpler is just as good as Gates.

So if the Falcons can get him in a One on One matchups with Scott, not only can Crump beat Scott, but he can open the outside portions of the field for big plays from Michael Jenkins and hopefully Roddy White. Cornerback Tyrone Poole is returning from an ankle injury, so it might be wise to attack him early, before he gets his timing back. Really, all of New Englands cornerbacks are banged up, so it might be smart to get Mike Vick and the receivers ready to roll early. If the Falcons do this, we might get a vintage Michael Vick performance on Sunday. Now, I'm not saying abandon the run, that would just stupid. But lets have the pass set up the run, instead of the other way around. The ol' element of surprise.

Now to the Defense...

The Patriots have only givin up only 6 sacks all season, but they have to rookies starting on the O line and Matt Light might not play again this season. The Key for the Patriots will not be Tom Brady, it'll be Corey Dillon. The Patriots have had a tough time getting Corey Dillon going. The running game as a whole ranks dead last in the league, averaging just 66 yards per game and 2.8 yards per carry. Last week against San Diego, Dillon only rushed for 63 yards on 14 carries, Five of those either went for losses or no gain. The Pats lost veteran Joe Andruzzi and rookies Logan Mankins and Nick Kaczur are trying their best to make up for the loss, but the holes just haven't been there. The Falcons have been terrible in stopping the run most of the season. We are 22nd of 32 teams in rushing yards allowed per game (112.2) and 28th in rushing yards allowed per attempt (4.5). If we want to beat the Pats, we must keep Dillion at his current pace. If we do that, we'll make the Patriots one dimensional and that works best with what we do. In all, Atlanta has registered 17 sacks, including nine against the Vikings last week. The Falcons have to do what they've done all season- Be Agressive-. The Patriots have done a good job protecting Brady, but their rookie lineman have never faced a monster like Rod Coleman, who has five sacks in four games. D-Hall should be able to handle Deion Branch by himself, so we should send blitzes from D.Mo and Brooking and sooner or later, we'll get to Brady.

Stopping the Run = Falcons Win..... My Prediction: 27-20 Falcons Win
